I can be a lazy git, and its easy for me to plonk myself by the pool with a book. So on this trip, I have got a travel agent to organize a bit of sightseeing in several different places. Today is Saigon, so here are a few shots from my day:

I got talking to the old man in the last pic. His name is Duong Van Ngo.

He is 86 years old, and apparently quite famous in Saigon. He worked for the Post Office under the French, and they sent him to school to learn the language, and all the tricks of the post office trade. He worked in various post offices for 36 years, but in the big one in Saigon for the last 20 of his career.

Now retired, he goes to the Post Office every day, and translates letters, and gives advice to anyone that needs it, for a small fee.

He told me it keeps him young. :-)

Good on him, I say.
