Riding in Bangkok!!!

But, I almost exclusively use one of these:

(Exactly like this one. Reg A Quarter to 7 if you see me let on.)

To get to work and back and around the city. To be honest, it makes getting about a breeze. Running and maintenance costs are pennies and a small fraction of what a big bike costs.

Apart from the near death experiences, I love riding around Bangkok.

I won't go as a passenger. So no worries there.

Getting a bike isn't a problem. I went to look at a few today. It's just a matter of deciding. The real question for me is if my schedule will have me here at home or out of country at work. So, I think the safe thing to do is to not count on my passenger seat, but if I can go...I might be willing to take a straggler...maybe. :wink:

Hmm you're there ja listed in passengers 100% going, but, because I misunderstood ImBack when she said she lived there, I said you could go with Karnie, when in fact she intended to go with ImBack.

I was just pointing out who are definitely taking a bike, who are definitely passengers, who might be taking a bike and who might be a passenger.

And who had already arranged which passenger they would take.

I wasn't forgetting you.

It also seems pretty clear that BkkMe will probably have a bike by then bar work commitments and there's a likelihood that YC won't go for the same reason. DC has signed up but doesn't look like he wants to take a passenger at the mo.

I'm not sure if smskun is actually going 'cos she had said if she showed up she'd be riding her own bike. and EB has said if BkkMe isn't sorted he's welcome to go with him. I really don't mind either just that I suggested I'd take Querida and she said ok. Ciaran, also, would like to go and he doesnt 'have a seat yet either.

And I don't know about Si6 or Kingling. Whether they will have bikes or not and available passenger seats, or if they would like to be passengers if not.

If LillyDilly goes it'll be on a hired or borrowed bike with her friend and it looks like Miss Jaidee will be going possibly with a spare seat.

Mate, something you might not have considered...

You could very easily pick up a 20 thousand something scooter (there are tons around) to use in the meantime until you find something you're really after, and then part ex it.

If you lost anything at all (I doubt you would if you insisted you got 30 for it and were paying cash for the difference), it would probably work out less than renting something for the day.

Even if they didn't want it you could flog it for the same price.

Just a thought.
