drlovelife8
I would like to get ILETS 6.0 so what should I do?Anybody havs any tips for this? If I buy a book and practice by myself, will it be good? I strongly suggest submerging yourself in a high level English speaking environment. Do you think I can learn IELTS 6 level Thai by reading a book? Find a REAL IELTS exam prep class (be careful as it is easy to get such accreditation without being good). Pay the money, make farang friends, I would suggest farang women for obvious reasons, although you could always supplement your classes by... Never mind. Practice every day, learn to love English language. when you can dream and think in it... You are half way there. Think farang, be farang, ask Karnie, SB and others, they seem pretty good at English. Good luck.

If I buy a book and practice by myself, will it be good? Buy movies and TV series with English subtitles... watch them without the subtitles, see how much you can understand. Then watch them with the subtitles to see what you missed. Get a part time job in an English speaking business... waitress, receptionist. Get a teacher-boyfriend. Karnie
Dr.8 gave me too much credit but thank you so much tho. My English writting isn't that good but it's better than 6-7 years ago as well as my speaking because lack of opportunity to practice especially these last 2-3 years. Well, all I can say is the more you try, practice, study the more you success. Good luck

Thayodit
Are you taking the IELTS exam tomorrow? I am. I think 6.0 is not really difficult. Never try this test though. The score that I want is at least 6.5. su su.
admin
If you're looking to get better at reading/writing . . . write more! :-) Seriously, learning Thai I have the same issue. The more you write the easier it gets. My Thai teacher would give us interesting exercises where she would ask us how we thought something should be written in Thai. It was usually something where there was an accepted English word used in Thai. For instance, the name of a country. But in Thai there are multiple characters to represent a single sound so (more often than not) we would get the spelling incorrect. It taught me a lot about how Thai should be written. I think most of the folks on here are pretty helpful if you want to work on improving your writing. Just keep posting and ask when you have questions. Oh, and su su :-)

Thayodit
how to get 6.5 or 7 ?? I think write more with confidence. I just finish my IELTS test today. It was kind of good. I didn't do enough writing practice so I couldn't make it for the second task -- the long one -- but for some the other parts I could do without pressure. This exam tests you how good you are, how do you concentrate to what people talking which can be really used with real life. Need to prepare myself for the second round of this test. Good luck to you.

CherieAtwood
To obtain a very good score band for IELTS, a lot of work has to be done. I did the test twice, 6.5 for the first time, and 7.5 for the second time. Writing seems to be the most difficult part for most candidates, well, it cant be denied that, Thais rarely practise their writing skills, so when it comes to pointing out their opinions, having to show all those supporting statements in a structured pattern, they fail. To be able to write two essays in such a limited amount of time, you NEED to read a lot. Reading will provide you with ideas. It also helps you in improving your grammar. Bear in mind that, examiners are native, so you need to write down what they can understand, not what you can understand. I hope that this makes sense. Thayodit
@bunny_girly why don't you take the IELTS now. There is a scholarship available to apply by the end of the year then start studying in European countries (yup, this scholarship required to study at least two countries in Europe) next year. Try to google this word Erasmus. The special thing about this scholarship is there are quotas for non-European. I'm not sure that you are in English speaking environment or not, but I'd love to help you, correct some basic grammar. Lol. You know what, when I started studying English and a friend of mine always corrected me all the time, it could be frustrated sometime like am I wring again? I felt like to give up many times, but to achieve my goal, to travel around the world, I tried to be positive for every comment that I got, and learn from the mistake. After blunder and blunder, I became more confident to use the language. Hey, you go on and don't give up easily.
