SoBeIt
Antibiotics are in the animals from the factory they came from. We make food faster but lose the race with pathogens. Thai shrimp farms-loaded with antibiotics. And also in the big chicken farms. And eco chicken is too expensive to buy often. :?

SoBeIt
Good to know... My local 5star chicken outlet is far closer than the hospital Im a meat lover (no pun intened) But after knowing that how bad they mistreat chicken, pig, cow etc. I have to stop and think abit, is it really worth it.. We can get really sick from all the **** that they put in the big animal farms. Too much antibiotics in the chickens is bad. Also with Salmonella bacteria if the chicken is not well cooked. Last year I saw how they did with the cow in Europe, They gave the hormones to the mommy cows so that mothers could have chubby yummy baby cows. In the end, mommy cows couldnt give birth naturally coz the babies were too big. They had to do the caesarean to take the babies out. :? Not to mention about the pig and others animals that mistreated. Human being is such a nasty creature..

warren
Someone more widely travelled than I, told me that it's a SE Asian thing.Unless the patient leaves with 4-5 different medicines, they don't feel they have been treated. I also notice that my Thai friends go to hospital for trivial reasons... food poisoning, headaches, tiredness. As for trusting Thai doctors, a friend of mine had a slight motorbike accident and injured his hand. He went to Bumrungrad and had an X-ray. The doc told him it was soft tissue damage and gave him pain killers and anti inflammatories. I asked him about a bold white line on the X-ray and he explained it was part of the bones in the hand. Later it transpired that it was a fracture and needed strapping up for over a week. Unfortunately over-prescribing of antibiotics is common in Canada as well. The relationship between the pharmaceutical companies and physicians is a bit scary. The pharmaceutical companies wine & dine the physicians to encourage them to prescribe their newest, priciest product.
PiAnt
But anything which will help to rid this rock of the human virus has to be a good thing, surely?
SoBeIt
My Sweds friends love Thailand when it comes to medicine issue. He could buy the whole box of Tramadol [hydrochloride] + a bunch of Viagras back to Sweden without any problem. I asked him what the pharmacy said when you want to buy the whole box of Tramadol? He said, I just bribe him.. Done! Well, its actually handy in a way..
