zeusbheld
looks like a good project, but sadly, i'm not thai and don't cook.
Kayle
I am thai and I usually cook, but very badly. Although I have an assistant..."Lobo" Thai food paste. It comes in a vast variety Thai food. It saves my life over here in England where food are very tasty (yeah, right). I have proven that my food tastes better than in a Thai restaurant. Why not come to thailand and get a container full of Lobo. As long as you know how to boil water and have access to veity of meat and vegetables, you will be just fine.
Kayle
PS No I am not getting any commission from Lobo.
GoldMember
Thai food is fairly easy to reproduce providing you can find the right ingredients(plus of course have the motivation).London and Paris are full of very large oriental supermarkets which fly in fresh Oriental foodstuffs on a daily basis.(My tom yam koong beat local thai food restaurants by an absolute mile ).Sri Lanka probably already grows/can grow most required items.Just need a few good cookbooks

GoldMember
... Just need a few good cookbooks  any recommendations? My personal favourite is "Vatch's Thai Cookbook" by Vatcharin Bhumichitr. Not only a good cook book giving essential ingredients and cooking techniques etc ,but also an interesting travelogue on each of the major region's specialities. quote Its not intended to be a guide book ,but more a personal exploration of some of the more unusual byways of my homeland,a sort of cook's tour with a small c unquote
