thaibel
I got this very annoying and agressive thing on my pc a few days ago. It looks very professional. But it's realy nothing what it's supposed to be, more the opposite. It will say ur pc is at a high risk for viruses and spyware. And ask u to download 'Spyheal', a so-called program to remove all infections. Happily I could find a solution using my search-engine. U can find some remover tool to get rid of 'this pain in the *ss' and instructions how to do it.It's quite recent and that's why I warn all people here. I found this in a blogspot http://famasabawa.blogspot.com/: Remove SpyHeal SpyHeal is a new rogue antispyware application caused by ZLOB Trojan. SpyHeal Trojan displays an icon in the system tray. This icon shows a message, which says that the compromised computer is infected with dangerous spyware parasites, and asks the user to download and install a removal program, which actually is Spy Heal, corrupt illegally distributed spyware remover. SpyHeal Trojan also changes desktop wallpaper to fake warning message, hijacks the web browser and redirects the user to undesirable web sites. Furthermore, it can serve unsolicited pop-up advertisements and install certain adware parasites.SpyHeal may also try to download and install the corrupt spyware remover. The parasite automatically runs on every Windows startup. Spy Heal can be extremely difficult to remove manually and could cause your computer to stop responding. This spyware hides itself in your system very well. So well, it can't be removed by most programs. To safely remove all SpyHeal virus components causing popups, we recommend using only a well-known spyware removal utility such as NoAdware. We whole heartedly recommend this program because they update twice a week to fight the latest variants. But I just bought a new (second hand) pc, not gonna change immediatly. And some applications don't work on Mac. Does anybody works with firefox or another browser as IE, and r they any better regarding to all those threahts. I wanna change, but it's not possible to remove IE, because it comes in 1 packet with XP. Does I just Leave IE on the HD and use another browser? No help I know but I try and convert as many people as possible to mac.
zeusbheld
those of you who are either a) utter tightwads and/or completely lacking in any sense of design or style can get the same security benefits as a mac by running LINUX or any other flavor of unix on your cheap khee nok pc instead of windoze. Eric, I've tried alternatives which include Netscape, Firefox and Opera. Of these Opera works best for me and I would never go back to using IE. I still have IE but it just sits idle. Opera is now my default browser.

I get really impatient with IE though I keep it on my computer because for some reason I cannot access my university website on firefox. I think you could just leave IE on there - I haven't tried Opera but I would recommend Firefox. It's just so wonderfully convenient and hassle free. To answer ur question, u leave IE on the drive and load Firefox, Opera or whatever. Most people switch to Firefoxd and it's pretty good but Opera has its fans and is probably a cleaner browser. U will always be more vulnerable on a Windows PC than a Mac but if u keep uptodate with software and use a virus and spyware program (which u can download for free at www.download.com) u will be ok. While the Mac is great (and I love mine) it does have a couple of disadvantages. It's more expensive (but worth it I think), there is much less freeware (one reason for less vulnerability) and quite a lot of software is much less well supported than for Windows. Good case in point is all the adobe software which is ironic given that Apple got themn started in life. Nevetheless I will never switch back to Windows. thaibel
Thanks anyway for all answers. I just installed Opera and it sseems cool to me. Especially the possibility to hv several tabs open in the top menu. So it's easy to switch from one to another. Of course it doesn't solve the problem of 'Spyheal'. I got it a second time and removed it again. It's a Trojan and possible it comes with music I downloaded from a ptp progran I use. I also downloaded, after reading some reviews, 'avast' as a anti-virus program. It's good also and it can scan ur pc before u log in. So, possible trojans or viruses r detected before they can harm ur pc. Eric
