Ouan
'Geek' This is a new Thai word I've learnt, buy I'm not too sure of it's meaning. I think I understand it, but maybe someone here could correct/confirm for me? A Geek is someone outside of your relationship that is interested in you, right? Do you have to have a girl/boyfriend to have a 'geek'? Can you be single, and still have a 'geek'? How many 'geeks' do/can you have?
ozzy_bkk
Well, I have heard of this new word. The explanations I got from a Thai girl are : A geek is someone you have relationship with for fun. It seems to be "extra-relationship" from your regular gf/bf relationship if you have one (then each one know that both have gf/bf) Or if you are single, it is "free" relationship without projects and future. Hope these informations can help  Ozzy

JCBoston
Well, since I work in IT, there are several geeks in my office. There are 80 gigs on my PC hard drive. I think what you're talking about is "kik." The typical Romanization of Thai makes a "k" without "h" into something like a very sharp "g."

khun_lung
In today's "The Nation" there's a new poll about fashion, money habits, sex, and yes, even about "gig's" (¡Ôê¡)! It seems that just 14% of those polled admitted to having a gig but perhaps more amusingly, 37% said they didn't know what a gig is! hehehe
