vbroker
Take a dinner cruise on the Chao Praya River. View BKK from the top of the ____ Tower (Baiyoke? State? Forgot the name) and lounge around with a glass of Cabernet/Bordeaux, the complimentary nuts and a Havana cigar. Take a tour of the Bumrumgrad (spelling?) Hospital and chat with some of their top notch doctors and patients. Try your ground game at the Fairtex Gym (Pattaya as well). See a competitive (not staged where the outcome is known beforehand) Thai kick-boxing match. Spend at least one night at the Mandarin Oriental. I haven't yet; I understand there are 4 staff for every one guest. Try to get on Thai TV (don't do anything illegal). I imagine this is easier if you live there. Go to one of the posted charitable TF events where those helped are kids. Go to formerly San Francisco based Swensen's ice cream after eating street made tom ka gai, somtam and pad thai. Get a 2-3 hour traditional Thai massage.
sunsnow
Take a dinner cruise on the Chao Praya River.clipclip Get a 2-3 hour traditional Thai massage. Hey, these are all something even I could do. The only one that I might stay away for awhile would be the Mandarin Oriental...guessing the price is too much for me, i am just a lousy engineer. BUT nah, once in life time thing so maybe staying a night in 5 star hotel would have to be on the list, what ever the cost. (Except maybe that 6 or 7 start hotel in Dubai is too much luxury...maybe Mandarin would be indeed just good for me ). 10 things in BKK: Go out on a date with a 40+ yrs old freelancer picked out from infront of Nana Hotel. ... .................................................And then die in the process. Damn, that would mean only one thing in the list. LOL Kidding. (Must go to work now, I think I just this day at work to think about my list lol )

Get drunk on a bottle of Mekong whiskey 2. Get bit by a soi dog 3. Get molested/robbed by a LB while walking down sukumvhit 4. Eat some endangered animals in Chinatown 5. Stay in a short time hotel room 6. Eat a McRice Burger 7. Visit Ko Lek (and try some fried flowers while you're there) 8. Have a taxi take you halfway to your destination then decide he doesn't want to complete the journey. 9. Get a 'good' deal on a fake rolex 10. Watch a copied movie trusting only the subtitles. (11. Fly through the air off your balcony)

danny_blueeyes
1. Be told the Royal Palace is "closed today" and take a 15 baht "sightseeing tour" instead 2. Visit the Crocodile Farm and buy a dead chicken to feed to the crocs. Then eat crocodile steak for lunch 3. Find out too late that the hot girl you met in the club has an unexpected surprise between "her" legs 4. Eat so many chillies that your face turns red 5. Take the local canal boat from Banglumpoo to MBK 6. Buy a bag of fried grasshoppers. They're delicious, honest! 7. See a Thai boxing match at Lumphini stadium 8. Still be drinking on Khao San Road when the sun comes up 9. Go to a Thai fortune teller and have your fate revealed 10. Take a Thai massage course at Wat Po

Fairtex is a Thai owned mixed martial arts gym whose instructors hail from Pride (Japan) and the Ultimate Fighting Championship. There are branches in BKK, Pattaya, San Francisco and others. "Ground game" or "rolling" refers to the act of training or fighting on the ground; no holds barred wrestling, if you will. Go to formerly San Francisco based Swensen's ice cream after eating street made tom ka gai, somtam and pad thai. i know you live in SFO so it's a sentimental choice but skip the swensen's, it's dreadful. trust me on this. the street food, at its best, is amazing though. I encountered Swensen's walking into the MBK airtrain entrance. There is a sign prior to the entrance which describes how Earle Swensen started the shop in SF and so on. Never had it here; I had to try it and thought it was decent ice cream. I'm happy to "trust you on this" provided credible alternatives are suggested? I have also seen Baskin-Robbins which is ok here; haven't tried there. As for the street vendors, there is almost no reason to eat anywhere else other than the Foodland counter. Unless you need to impress a woman, client or both. Other ice cream shops?

Other ice cream shops? honestly i haven't encountered much in the way of good ice cream here, but i'm kind of fussy about ice cream and can do without if it isn't good. swensens have some tolerable stuff but not up to the level of swensens elsewhere (not a fan of swensens in the US but it's better). new york, on the other hand... there's a killer place on bleecker near 7th ave, south side of the street. can't remember what it's called. here i generally stick with what they're good at. i like several of the thai desserts but don't know what they're called. when i do have dessert it's usually mango with sticky rice--simple, and done right, amazing. venus
9. Get a 'good' deal on a fake rolex now, i understand the "concept" of why some farangs go for bargirl - when they cant be able to get a good gf. so, simply get a bargirl. thats becasue its very easy and its just there available, it takes no effort. they can just have one. just like when they cant get a real rolex. simply get a fake one.
