baboe
Ok, suppose the new cyber crime law gets passed in Thailand and suppose for some reason websites like YouTube, TF, ... get blocked by the government. Would you pay a monthly fee for having access to those sites in a legal way? If you want to know why I ask this, read the forum Thailand gets new cyber crime law

grezzzy_greer
But if the governement blocks them it means they are considered illegal to view in Thailand, so how could anyone pay a fee to view them legally, short of leaving the country? Read the last 2 a 3 post in the other forum I mention. There seem to be an important backdoor in the law which can be easily exploited.

Stu_thailand
Thism COULD be going in the direction that there WILL be a ways of applying to view blocked sites, for which we will have to fill in an application form, and sign a photocopy of 1,305,679 documents. The company dealing with this will be a private company, and will, of course, keep all the 'fees'. The board of the private company, will have some friends / family of the person responsible for making this l...wait...that is just silly, shut up Stuart. unknown_user
When I was living in Thailand for a short while in 2005, I paid for a service which allowed me to bypass blocked sites. It cost $9.99 at the time and was a little hard to setup, but I expect it is much easier now... maybe cheaper too.

sunsnow
Baboe, wide knowledge or better yet, habbit of using proxies become more and more necessary as incompetent IT folks in Thai ISP companies and Ministries have their rule and way. Blogspot was today their victim as for example some of my contacts couldnt access blogs if they were using TOT internet. All this to blame saturdayvoice.blogspot.com which was tried to be blocked. (more info from the net haha) Clueless ppl seemed to block whole blogspot.
