SpeedTriple
thanks guys It is a really basic problem. I have a style sheet with a background image created in Fireworks. I apply the style sheet to the page and in Dreamweaver the image is visible. When I preview in a browser the image is still visible, but when I upload the site to my server, the background image is not visible. The image files are on my server, I can view it if I type in the exact URL for the image, but it is not working as a background. This sort of thing should be so easy, it makes me mad, grr  Rich.
SpeedTriple
Boecky I solved it... I had the style sheet in the root and DW put the location reference as /style-bg.css Just removing the forward slash was all that was needed, damn that caused me a headache  Thanks a lot for all your replies. Rich.
