Administrator
Greetings all, My mother is visiting this month. We will be spending a few days in Bangkok and a few days on the islands. We also want to head to another country nearby. Since we've already been to Cambodia, I'm asking the TF community for ideas on where to go, what to do, etc. Laos, Burma, Vietnam? Your suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers, Rob
bigcatbus
I think all countries have their unique style. Why not Laos? I remember, BKK Airways have a direct flight to Luang Prabang. Look at the photos made by famous (in our local internet community) traveller Kira Kaplinski. They are amazing! http://public.fotki.com/kkaplin/ (in right corner of this photo site you may switch interface to English)

Administrator
I will probably be going to Luang Prabang, mostly because of the feedback here. Thank you everyone. Ghee, I tried to book at La Residence, but it was booked during the days which I want to be there. Looks very nice, though, and thanks for trying to help. Any other recommendations for places to stay?
