2308: Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon on Spanish television station VEO: "We have agreed to sell the player for human reasons, for footballing reasons and for an important quantity of money." So, Robinho seems certain to be on his way to Manchester City. Crikey

the player still has to agree to terms. kinda implies he's *not* going to chelski though. i think real are pissed at cheslk for the same sort of bs that manure were doing....

if no big name player moves, they sure have shown theyr'e serious.

you know who i'd like to see as a plan b? AGUERO.

11.30pm News from Wolves, via the very helpful Tom Bason: "Why no mention of the transfer goings on at Molineux? George Friend (there must be a pun in there for you somewhere!!) signs from Exeter and Matt Hill and Stephen Elliott switch clubs in two allegedly completely unrelated transfers. It's a hotbed of activity- how many other clubs have signed no fewer than three defenders today?" And as I type that ROBINHO HAS SIGNED FOR MANCHESTER CITY.

that from the guardian. still just a rumor, but...

"MANCHESTER CITY have pipped Chelsea to the signature of Robinho from Real Madrid.

The fee, believed to be a British record £32.5million, was lodged in a frenetic deadline day for the newly owned club.

And his agent Wagner Ribeiro said: "It's confirmed. He has signed a four-year contract with Manchester City."

that's from the Sun, so it's slightly less reliable than that sms from some schmoe to the guardian, but...

and as i understand it manure had to throw in frazier campbell AND 5 million more, total value 37 million, in order to budge spurs after the brilliant cruel cash-fueled prank on fergie. real are almost certainly going to chase christina ronaldo relentlessly for next year now...

WHAT A WONDERFUL SOAP OPERA.

OK Sky are saying its 34mill GBP for Robinho but theyre still waiting for confirmation.

They are saying Mancity have offered 300 million Euros for 6 different players today so they mean business.

Berbatov they are waiting confirmation, but no paper work has been submitted for Campbell.

It'll all get confirmed in the next hour or 2, and im taking my bad knees to bed.

NUFC have signed some gadgy on loan.

0001: "Every time I have spoken with him he was very sad, crying and asking to leave Spain," said Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon of Robinho.

Oh come on Binho, joining City isn't that bad. Is it?

Manchester is a grey horrible city with terrible architecture and full of 2bit wanabee gangsters, id be upset at having to live there even on 5 million quid a year.

Here is a link about the new owners apparantly the looked at buying Newcastle and Arsenal -

0007: "I am absolutely delighted to get the opportunity to work with such an incredible talent like Robinho. I have said that in order to compete with the best teams in the Premier League we have to be in the market for players of this calibre, and Robinho is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world."

Man City manager Mark Hughes
