dumper
I've noticed this picture of a crocodile with a flower in its mouth in some bars. I was just wondering what the significance of this image is ? What it represents ? Where it comes from ? Any explanations most welcome. Thanks. SweetieBabie
A crocodile with 3 lotus in the mouth. Many Thai people are superstitious about good luck. They believe this symbolic flag will bring them luck in trading and in business. A Crocodile symbolizes greed, and the lotus are the good. This flag is used during Buddhist ritual ceremony during monsoon season. Here is a good source to find out more about this ceremony (Thai) http://www.dhammajak.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=8669 "¸§¡°Ô¹Ãѹ·Õè 1 à »ç¹ÃÙ»¨ÃÃà ¢é¤Òº´Ã¡ºÑÇ ËÃÒ¶֧ ¤ÇÒÃâÅÀ â´Â»¡µÔáÅéǨÃà ¢éà »ç¹ÊѵÇì¤ÃÖ觺¡¤ÃÖ觹éÓ 㹺ҧªèǧ¢Öé¹ÃҹùÃéÒ»Ò¡ÃÂÙ躹º¡ãËéáÃŧÇÑ¹à ¢éÒÃÒµÃÃÃÂÙèã¹»Ò¡ ¾ÃáÃŧÇÑ¹à ¢éÒä»ÃÇáѹËÅÒÂæ µÑÇà ¢éÒ ¨Ö§ä´é§Ñº»Ò¡à ÃÒáÃÅ§à »ç¹ÃÒËÒà ·èÒ¹ä´éà »ÃÕº¶Ö§¤¹à ÃÒ·ÕèÃÕ¤ÇÒÃâÅÀ äÃèÃÕ¤ÇÒÃÃÙéÊÖ¡ÊÓ¹Ö¡ªÑèÇ´Õ ¤ÇÒö١µéçËÃ×ÃäÃè ÃÕáµè¨Ãà ÃÒãËéä´é·èÒà ´ÕÂÇ â´ÂäÃè¤Ó¹Ö§ÇèÒ·Õèä´éÃÒ¹Ñé¹ ÃÕ¤ÇÒÃÊ¡»Ã¡á»´à »×éù´éǤÇÒÃäÃè´ÕäÃè§Òà ¤×ÃáØÈÅËÃ×ÃäÃè ¼ÙéÃ×蹨Ãä´éÃѺ¼ÅÃÂèÒ§äèҡ¡ÒáÃ÷Ӣçµ¹äÃèä´éãÊè㨠´Ñ§¹Ñé¹ ¸§ÃÙ»¨ÃÃà ¢é·èÒ¹¨Ö§ä´éà »ÃÕºà ËÃ×ù¡Ñº¤ÇÒÃâÅÀ ·Õè·ÓãË餹¡Ãºâ¡Â·Ø¡ÊÔ觷ءÃÂèÒ§à ·èÒ·Õè¨ÃÃÕªèç·Ò§ËÃ×ÃâáÒÊ"

dumper
Hi I'm in Thailand just now and thought I'd buy a picture of the crocodile with three lotuses to take home. However its proved to be quite difficult to locate. No one seems to know where to buy one. I've been told I need to go Issan, Surin for strong magic one, order from temple but no one knows. Any suggestions where I can locate a 'real' one in Bangkok or Pattaya most appreciated. :
beej
There are 2 large Buddhist markets just the other side of Wat Pho and the Grand Palace, that run along the river, you'll find them there, though it'll take you a while. Best take a photo of it along with you to show some people.

PiAnt
7 days a week. So closed 2 days then. Here mate, try this one. The hamster represents money grubbing bankers, and the Cheezy Wotsit is ordinary people's balls. This pic, funnily enough, is usually found on the top desk draws of Bank Managers. Print it out mate and hang it in your front window.

dumper
Bump this old thread, was it really two years ago I was asking about these images. Time flies... Anyway pleased to say I finally got some this year. I was told they are called Goong Pee (the crocodile) and Machaa. I've been trying to find out a bit more about Machaa. I was told 'she good lady only love one man'... but I'd like to find out a bit more. Tried searching Macha/a in google without much success. Anyone tell me more about her. Khop khun khap.
