UK Blu-Ray disks and Thailand.

Can anyone help?

Providing they are region free, would Blu-Ray disks from the UK play on a Blu-Ray player or PS3 in Thailand?

Would the fact that the Thai TV broadcast system, (PAL 2) is different to the UK system, (PAL I) make any difference?

Are Blu-Ray disks easy to buy in BKK? If so are they cheaper than UK?

Most blu-ray discs are region free. PAL has nothing to do with it, since the output from the player is HD. You can buy a limited range of blu-ray discs in most DVD shops in Bangkok, but they tend to be more expensive than in England (1000-1800 baht). The only advantage of buying blu-ray discs in Thailand is that they usually have Thai subtitles. Of course you can also buy pirate blu-ray discs, but so far there doesn't seem to be a good selection of those.

Thailand is region A and so is the PS3 here. Most of the import here are from the US and are region A too(some are ABC).

You also can find some cheaper bluray made from asia(original not copy one)around 900 baht, but they do not write the zone on the box so it is impossible to know if they will work in UK.
