Invisibility cloak

Saw this article. What would you do with an invisibility cloak? Real-life invisibility cloak on way. Scientists have taken a further step towards developing a practical invisibility cloak. Materials created by researchers in the US can bend light around three dimensional objects so they seem to disappear. Applying the technology on a larger scale could pave the way to a real-life Harry Potter-style "invisibility cloak" capable of hiding a person. The invisibility effect is made possible by

Eat up your watermelon guys :-)

Saw this article in a newspaper. Made me smile. Probably something dreamed up by a watermelon marketing man.:-) Stll, eat up your watermelon guys. Watermelon 'has similar effects to Viagra' Eating watermelon can boost a man's libido in a similar way to taking Viagra, researchers say. Experts claim that the red-fleshed fruit contains an ingredient that affects the body's blood vessels in the same way as when a man takes the sex drug. Researchers believe that the juicy fruit could be used

Aliens in London? (Again)

Well, I went out for a ride on my bike this morning, alongside the River Thames:All of a sudden, I came across this strange object being lifted out of a crater in the ground, alongside City Hall:It looked like a spaceship:There was a big crater, surrounded by  "Men in Black", and signs saying secure area. You can see the crater:  Men in Black I approached one and asked him what was going on. He said that he was not at liberty to say.The "Men in Black were everywhere: Most mysterious. Perhaps

Morgan cars

Well its the British Motor Show next week at the London ExcelCentre. Not that there are many British car manufacturers left. One that still survives is Morgan cars, an oddity in that they still make part of the chassis from wood (Ash). Now to prove that Britsh invention still has a little bit of life left, they have come up with this. The Life Car.Not any old car, this is powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology, so the only by-product emission is water.

The London Eye

Yesterday, I walked along the Thames and visited the London Eye. 135 metres in diameter, it sits on the south bank of the River Thames, next to the building that houses the London Aquarium. There are 32 capsules that can carry around 800 passengers. One revolution lasts about 30 mins.I paid my £15 fare, and took a ride :There are several sculptures (not originals) by various artists, including Salvador Dali, alongside the wheel:The capsules rotate as the wheel turns, so you are always standing u

The Ring Of Fire..

Excerpt from the Evening Standard, London:The Cinnamon Club, in westminster has unveiled the hottest curry in the world. Executive chef Vivek Singh launched the " Bollywood Burner" and diners must promise not to sue before taking a mouthful. It contains the Dorset Naga chilli which, at 800,000 on the Scoville scale -- the official piquancy measure -- is 100 times as hot as a jalapeno at 8,000.I bet there will be some sore bottoms after that meal

Hmong women

When I was in Chiang Mai, I visited the Ethno-Agricultural village. There are several different tribes, Hmong, Karen etc living there in their traditional houses, wearing traditional costumes, growing rice and making things (handicrafts) which they sell to the tourists. Here are some pictures of the Hmong women that I saw there:

More Tiger pics

Here are some more pictures of the Tigers at the Tiger Kingdom, Chiang Mai.A cub. You can see his big brother in the cage behind him. The wardens don't go in with them. Too big and dangerous.I don''t know if he thought I was dinner :-)Look at the size of those paws!Tigers are one of the few cats that actually like water.I would not like a swipe like that! What's that up there? I felt safe next to that guy. He had more meat on him than me. :-) If you were a Tiger, which one would you eat? Restin

Pampered princess.

Whilst sitting in a cafe, just outside Chiang Mai, with my taxi driver, a man came in with this beautiful cat. You could see that this was one elegant, pampered *****. It even had its own Burberry carry case. As you can see it the photos, it was sprting some impressive jewellery too. And it had different coloured eyes.Personally, I prefer the Tigers that I visited at the Tiger Kingdom. Only four to six months old, but already bigger than an Alsatian dog.Look at the size of their paws! They were
