Apple will be releasing their new operating system, "Snow Leopard", this coming friday, 28th August). It is available for pre-order from the Apple website. www.apple.comNot so much a new OS, as an upgrade of Leopard. They have concentrated on both improving, and reducing the size of Leopard.
I just did a broadband speed test at www.speedtest.netMy results were: Ping 43ms, Download 6.69Mb/s, Upload 0.70Mb/s. Way short of what I am promised, but it still seems pretty good. Whilst I understand that it may be slower in Thailand, how will you fare in the test? Try it.

Its sweltering here in Samui. 38 degrees, and the sun is far too strong for me to sit out for long.Anyway, I am taking some friends for dinner tonight, and I went to the cafe where they work, just to confirm everything, and whilst there they offered me some very spicy curry dish. It was quite tasty. They said that it was Grarok, and a "southern dish". Anyone know what Grarok is? Well thats what it sounded like.
Due to the train drivers strike, I had to leave home for the airport today at 3pm, even though my flight to BKK doesn't depart until 21:30. So here I am, just hanging around with nothing much to do. I should get to Samui sometime on Friday evening Thai time. Som Tum here I come.
Its been raining and its miserable here. :-( The pound is weak.BT unilaterally decided to upgrade my internet to 24Meg. The only problem is that it hasn't worked for two weeks since they did it. Can you believe it? One of the biggest telecom companies in the world, and they cannot even do an upgrade without messing it up. Someone failed to do the mapping, whatever that is, and I must wait another 72 hours before service is reinstalled. I have had to buy a USB broadband dongle just to send e-mai

Well, here are some more photos from my trip. As you can see, it was nice and relaxing. No bars, clubs, or traffic here. I drove my motorbike for nearly an hour, and never saw any other traffic.
