What is the Good Life?

I'm being headhunted for a big job in London, but prefer to sit in the sun and play dominoes whilst drinking Singha beer and eating Somtam.

What would you do?

London is a desert for pretty ladies....

I am minded to take the money for a while, and then come back. But hey, don't even know if I'll get the job. But it's a big question for many people here.

I read a story about a very successful financialist man who finally could take a break for vacation. He chose to go to a small town for fishing.

When he got there he met a very good fisherman. He could fish very very huge fish and many many of them. But he chose to fish only just few fishs and go home.

Finance man asked fisherman 'Why don't you fish more and you could make alot more money? I can even set up a company for you, you could move to New York with me and we can sell fish and then you will be rich. We could have our company in stock market too ya know'

The fisherman said ' Then what?'

Finance man said 'Then you could take vacation and come here fishing again'

Cheers.

I understand pretty thai girls tend to cloud your judgment from time to time (can't help it). But if i were you, I would give it a try (the job in London). If you don't like it or get bored of it, Thailand is always there for you to go back.

2 years ago I got some job offers at universities in Thailand. I was looking to move there as I was engaged at the time (believe it or not ;). Her job was much better than mine, and mine is more mobile, so, off to Thailand for me. But we broke up and I had the decision to make: make the move to Thailand, one of my favourite countries on the planet, and earn peanuts, or stay in Japan and keep the job I have now. I chose to stay here. Work here and be bored for 8 months, and enjoy life to the fullest when I'm in Thailand and abroad. But if I could live in Thailand on the big bucks, I'd move in a heartbeat!

But that's assuming that you don't already have a kick-ass job in Thailand. At 40 (my age), if you're living abroad, you probably won't have a decent pension in your home country, so you need to think of how to get money, buy property, and save enough so that you're not eating dog food after you retire. Japan allows me to do that, AND I can afford to travel and enjoy Thailand as a holiday place. So it's really about how secure your present job and future conditions are.
