Ok... this might sound a lil lame to some of ya but it's the best excuse I can ever come up with right now!I haven't been uploading pics from the camping with smily trip on here as my laptop broke down the 1st night i came home from the camping! I'm now using an old pc which the "U" and "J" icons dont work. So I have to use this on screen keyboard! At least something is working!Sigh***  I got load of pics to share but they are still in my cams. Been weeks already and im going nuts.Maybe some geeks here can enlight me a bit about what's wrong with my laptop. Ok here are the symtoms, my laptop kept turning itself off 10 sec.everytime after i open "My document" If i dont open "My document" it stayed on and i also got pop up msg saying low memory space etc. So i thought something was wrong with my windows. Took my laptop to shop to get windows reinstalled. The guy deleted old windows and tried to install but never get it done as my laptop kept turning itself off in the middle of installation Now no windows!! He tested harddrive and rams and they are ok. I'm hopeless now. So scare that it's the motherboard,if so i know i can kiss my laptop ass goodbye! I will be bringing my loving laptop to bkk tomorrow and get it check. Wish me luck plz. I'm not ready to spend my saving for my travel on fixing the laptop Buddha be with me! Satoo (Amen)Sad Smily,

yes he tried put in different memory.

It didnt shut down and restart. Just shut down and .............. but when i turned it back on everything was still ok.

Hmm...maybe also the power supply, but that might be integrated on the motherboard :-P

..I would open it, check every connection, wiggle every plug, make sure each chip is pressed properly down in the socket, afterwards make a standalone scandisk (from a CD) of the harddisk...also make sure the power cord doesn't have loose connection, the power plug on the laptop might be *very* vulnerable coz it's easy to accidently get damaged...I would check the solderings where the plug is attachec to the motherboard, I'd also see if I could try with another power cord....hmmm... that's all :-)

Hmmm...being a laptop, it sounds almost like the power monitor is putting your machine into standby for some reason..or..... you have a weird virus.

Did the technician reformat your drive, or just try to reload windows over the top of the old OS ?

Sounds good Wallace but before that I would have to find my lucky panties and a sexy pole to earn some $$$$ for new laptop lol I just spent lots of money on my cam and saving for my europe trip now.

Go to the laptop shop. Try re-flashing the BIOS. See if laptop boots up. If OK, then reload Windows with good virus protection. And run a burn-in program to test computer functions. Wish you good luck. bruce
