Hi all,

I need your help to write a proper letter to the embassy of Netherlands to re-consider my visa application. its not that i got rejected yet but it was held cos i told them i'd be travelling with my other 2 thai friends. however, my friends would not want to apply at the netherlands embassy cos its so tough to get a visa there. they decided to go to another embassy of other schengen countries instead. Now I have to tell them that my friends would not go there with me due to some business matter. Well I cannot tell them that they would apply at other embassy, can I? I just dont know how to start writing a proper letter.... any help please? I'm now searching for a letter of consideration format but I'm not sure if that would really help.

Cheers,

Dear sirs,

Per my previous letter requesting a visa for travel in you beautiful country, the two friends that I was to travel with had to change their plans for business reasons. I will now be traveling by myself, and I'm hoping this will not affect your decision in granting me the visa.

My appoligies for this inconvience, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Afook06 * I dont need a legal aid or pay for that .... this is a personal letter I could write it myself with a little help to write it properly and formally.

Koolbreez * That sounds great! I'll adopt to my draft one :) oh and its "apology" by the way :)

LAFBKK * Dont be funny with me on your birthday!! LOL Hey I already called them and asked what to do. They said just send them a letter of consideration and call to check for the result *shocked*

Marty * Email me or post it here?

Afook06 * He asked me to re-check the spelling. I did. He used double "P" which is incorrect. I only need to say 'apology' not 'apologies' cos I dont need to feel so sorry about what I'm going to write. In this case you need a new pair of glasses by the way.

ThePunisher * The more you tell them the truth, the more they become trickier with you!

If you think it can to apply to your purpose i can forward my email to you ( company confidencial na ) But if you want me to write letter for you.. friendly fee charge will be billed to you after VISA has been approved. okie ? ;-)

May,

In that case.....please accept my apology for any inconvenience regarding this matter...........I was only going with Steve's plural tense.........but you're right, I do use reading glasses on the pc.........heehee..

However, if KL use to do this for a living.........consult him for an opinion.........just don't give him any Viagra!

I think khun lung is the expert in this field

But as far as i know the use of the word "apologies" in koolbreez's draft is correct but it was just spelled wrong thats all

I would have thought everyone's application would be looked at individually. It would be irrelevant that two friends wanted to travel with you. If you qualify, you get a visa, doesn't matter about them.

What with all these new countries in the E.U that don't have 100% E.U satus you can see why you've been rejected. European applications whether it be for pleasure of business would have to come first. Bit like when you go to Myanmar for a day trip, your Thai girlfriend pays 50 baht, you pay 500 baht

BigKus * Mai dai.. its your company confidential .. that would make you a spy? lol But you can send me a friendly fee charge anytime na ja hehe

Khun_Lung & I_am_George * Really appreciate both of your kindness. I'll send you two a PM if I'm too lazy tonight lol

Afook06 * I wont give anyone a vigra.. maybe to you if you want it?

Balibatman * I know you would not reply so soon and I wont write you so soon too... well we're so gemini!! Hope you had a fastastic time last night!!

Jazz_G * Thx na ja joob joob

ChangNoi_99 * Yes he is :) About the spelling, I know he spelled the word incorrectly. I didnt say "apologies" is not a word... right?

Rkidlad * Well actually I happened to mention to them that I'd be travelling with 2 thai friends which is the truth! So they said 'lets wait for your other 2 friends' application as a co-application then we can grant your visa' I've never been rejected when travelling to EU before but this is the most tough situation I've ever been through comparing with other embassies!

Ghee * I would pick "Dear Sirs or Madams" ... it would be read by the ambassador!

May, if you want any help of me, then you can also send me a copy of what you wrote thusfar. Maybe I could help a bit. I wouldn't tell them more than the very necessary. Keep it simple. That's what they like. The more complicated, the more they'll think 'it stinks', while nothing is to blame on you.

Actually they might not like it that the other two apply for France while they are actually going to Holland. It's not good to blow the gaff on your two friends. Don't give them their names. Just say the other two didn't find a guarantee in time, because these guarantees-to-be turned out to have a big mouth at the start, but didn't do anything after all for your friends. Maybe they'll ask for names. Find two people who want to declare that they wanted to go to Holland. Don't think that will be any problem.

Good luck... Joeri

When I was in Ko Lipe some months ago, I met one of the guys of the Dutch immigration office who deals with this kind of requests. He's based in Amsterdam and his job is to look at the applications and allow or reject them. We discussed a lot (our languages are the same) about immigration policies in Europe and he told me the Netherlands is one of the most tough countries to get into. So, maybe it's better to follow the advice of your friends and apply in any other Schengen country. Once you have the visa, you can travel around freely in all Schengen countries (majority of EU countries).
