Holding Grudges-Forgiving and forgetting
Too close out the year, I'd like to end on this thought that was wandering around in my head. Grudges.... Weve all had someone do us wrong in the past. Weve felt hurt, embarassed, angry,.. you name it?, it's been done. One thing I have realized is that if you spend energy holding grudges against someone and that other person doesn’t know about the grudge or doesn’t care about the grudge?, You are wasting energy.Me?, I'm fairly forgiving to a point, but once someone crosses that point with me, they're pretty much out of my life. I try(VERY HARD) to keep negative influences out of my life and people I dislike enough to want to hold a grudge with shouldn't be a part of it. I don't waste my time with them or anything. I'm not a vengeful person(too an extent) that I'm going to plot their downfall, but I'm not going to just forget and forgive and act like nothing happened either. I think I'd be a fool if I'd just forget and forgive because the person crossed a line I wouldn't set em straight. Thats how people get their social skills, they learn the repercussions of their actions. Also, you're just setting yourself up for future hurt again.
All in all, I guess it depends on what peoples definition of a grudge is. If it means forever being wary of that person and their actions in the future, yeah I do hold a bit of a grudge... to the point that I may not even remember why I dislike them, but knowing that they did something is often enough. If you define a grudge as constant fighting and becoming a nuisance to that person, well then I can't say i'm much of a grudge holder. Too time consuming!.Ending this, who holds grudes longer?, men or women?. On that note, I will say have a healthy and Happy New year to you all!
