One of my favorite bands ever is Black Sabbath. The song I like best is: WAR PIGSThis song has been covered so many times...!!!! First I want to show you a live version of it recorded in Paris back in 1970. I have this on VHS videotape for 20 years already.. but found it on youtube...Of course Ozzy Osbourne looks and acts cooler than he does right now... Think the chap used to much of everything, which didn't make him look smarter nowadays.Anyway, much respect for Ozzy in these days and watch the drummer: Bill Ward. It's amazing how this boy drummed back in those days!!!...

now take a look at the covers if you like:

, Gov't Mule, Mystic Pop, Tesla.....I reckon there is no band that even comes close to the original! Two funny videos though:

the version of War Pigs by the band Cake:

and the version of Hayseed Dixie!

Ozzy :) V--V
ozzy_osbourne_portrait.jpgOzzy-bat.jpg

and for dessert: Black Sabbath - Paranoid

and of course : Iron man!

hope you enjoyed.... :)

Howdee,

yep. great band. although being in the shadow of Purple and their great band members, like Blackmore, Gillan or Lord. Sabbath in the early 70s had been thee band for those ultra hard rockers Purple had always been way too soft.

Btw - Jimi Hendrix would have celebrated his 65th birthday today..

Cheers

Black Sabbath is my favorite band. Every month I listen Paranoid, and Heaven and Hell. Into the new trailer of last Marvel's Hero, Iron Man, I can listen some notes of the same song, Iron Man...and in School of Rock...if you wish to learn playing the guitar, It´s the second riff you can play (everyone know the first song????) and...Tommy Iommi...He created the riff's guitar....Black Sabbath...with Ozzy Osbourne..or with Ronnie James Dio...It's the music of my life; sometimes sad, sometimes dark, sometimes real...but always is feeling....

Can you remember Paranoid????

If in your city there is a concert of Heaven and Hell (Tommy Iommi, Geezer Butler, Ronnie James Dio and Vinnie Appice) RUNS!!!!!!!!

Great song and great group!!! amazing that Tony Iommi was still able to play guitar with the missing finger tips. Ozzy has been very fortunate to have performed with some really great musicians ( especially liked the guitarist Randy Rhodes and Zak Wylde).

love sabbath- being a fan of blackmore's rainbow i was also a fan when ronnie james dio took over- a completely different sounding sabbath but excellent nevertheless!! paranoid seems to be the tune which dominates my formative teen years though never really suffered myself!!

sabbath currently being used for the iron man movie trailer too!!

I once had the original double LP 'Deep Purple in rock' (on vinyl).

My friends sister once had a bf who nwas a rodey for Deep Purple so I got VIP cards & tried to let in sign by Ian Gillan, but a bodygard refused to let him sign.. This sisters bf said he would arrange it later.

Bf broke up with my friend's sister. Never saw the record again..

boohoo

And I like the record 'Look at yourself' of Uriah Heep :)
