Ahh, maybe I better explain :-)

Chanukah is a Jewish religious festival.

Jews don't eat pork.

Advertising pork as a delicious meal for a Jewish religious holiday would be offensive to Jewish people. Heck, I find it offensive and I'm not even Jewish :-)

The store manager probably thought "Hey, it's Chanukah and we're putting all this ham on sale so why not encourage people to buy it for their Chanukah parties." Obviously he knows nothing about Chanukah or Jewish tradition.

He might as well put up a sign that says "T-Bone Steak. A great source of protien for vegetarians." :-)

@bcool - they are not allowed to eat because pigs are not cosher - not clean. Well, believing and acting are way different.

When I was in Marroco I met a bunch of Arabs sitting under a roof drinking beer and asked for Allahs permission they said, "Ooooohhh - Allah see many things but cannot look through roof"- cheerio then !

So I dont mind Arabs drinking beer. As long as they drink beer they dont build bombs and I dont mind is Jews turn down pig. The more is left for me and I just love a good Schnitzel, so yummy with french fries and salad...
