My question about a visa to Schengen countries

I have a question..Have any jobless Thai person here got a 3-month visa to Schengen countries? I just quited my job after been married to it for 5 yrs and 2 months! I just thought maybe it's time to do something for myself. So I decided to resign from my work and thought to do some travelling for a while. The thing is getting a visa to any Schengen countries is not that easy when you dont have a job. I dont know how to prove to the embassy that I will come back. I usually get a letter from my office when I travel outside Thailand but this time I'm not sure about that. Do I really have to ask someone to guarantee? Since most of my close friends are male, I believe that the embassy would think that they are my (x-)bfs or something when they are not *sigh* I could've registered some course there but would it be better? Please let me know what you think and give me some idea about what I should do.Cheers,

P'Nicky ka.. I got the idea already.. as we discussed before :) Thanks again na ka! My plan is to stay in Netherlands longer than other countries so I'm thinking to ask my visa at Netherlands embassy BUT they could've seen that I went there before.. so perhaps they may think I got a bf there? Aww this is SUCK! I could get a friend in Sweden to guarantee for me but I dont wanna visit Sweden first (no matter how super good-looking ppl in this country are!) lol This is why I got myself so confused!

If I got a visa, I'd stop by CPH for sure :) I'll let u know!

If you are funding this trip yourself you obviously have a stack of cash. If you show the Embassy your bank statement (with the regular salary input from your job) you should be fine. I'm no expert on visas but you really don't seem like the type of person they'd worry about.

Chris honey I quited my job!! U think I can show them my old salary?? Bank statement is what they require usually. My problem is how to convince them I'm coming bank...

Just wrote to HR and asked if they could issue me one last letter.. wish me luck!

Another thing.

It might help if you can get letters from people that you will be staying with (if you are, and not just staying in hotels).

Also show what you are planning to do, where you are planning to go and when you are planning to leave.

flight and train tickets etc.

I realise that you might not be planning everything, but it might help your case.

May, normally you always need someone who guarantees for you in one of the Schengen countries. It's a simple form one can get at the community. And he must also deliver an proof that he has or rent a house, a form that he's an European citizen and a copy of his salary form. If you have this papers and also, I think your birth certificate and a few other papers than you can ask your visa. It isn't even sure that they give you a visa than.

You can also try to get a fiancee visa, it seems to be easier to get .... and after all when you go back you don't have to be married (things can go wrong) .... lol

Why not try to come to Belgium, it's next to The Netherlands and people are as good of not better and beer is definetly better, hahahahaa.

lol the thing is ive never had a problem in getting a visa cos my company always gives me a letter that i'll come back to work for them!! getting a fiancee visa is not exactly what i think and it would be my last choice cos i dont wanna be thought as another thai girl going to see her bf lol hey nothing wrong with that but its just i dont have any bf there... just giks! haha joking!!

i know exactly what i need basically.. u know all the papers from my friends, me, financial means and stuffs.. just wonder if there're other ways to get a visa easier? this is not the first time i'm travelling to eu but im still worried whenever i have to go the embassy!!

May, I think that there are basicly 5 visas to come to Europe: tourist visa (that's what you want), student visa (that ends when you're course is finished), a work visa (when you've to work for a company here, a fiancee visa and a visa when you want to come live with your family who stays here (can be your husband, mother .....). They have all restrictions, chose what suits you the most.

Other option: hide yourself in a container heading for Europe (take enough food and water with you) and hope they don't find you at the port of destination. lol.

lol yeah I guess I know most visa types by now :) I'd love to hide myself in a container provided my company..I worked for...but it takes a month to get there. I dont think I wanna wait for that long. I'm getting bored of not be able to do anything right now! I used to be workaholic but now I got nothing to do!! lol

ive quitted my job two years ago,so when I applied for visa to Europe I dont have any certify letter from my company but i think what most of the embassy needs are the same and these are what i normally give away to the embassy...

-The person in the country youre going to be with saying friends or whatever...

-Prove of his work, properties or flat or house and saying that he/she will sponsor you when you are in the country

-His/her personal documents like photocopy of passport, bank statement etc.

-Your letter saying that you have quitted your job with dates

-Normally when you quit your job your company should give you a 'Certify letter from the company that you have been woring there for...... ¨´ËÃÒÂÂ×¹ÂѹÇèÒä´éÅÒÃááÅéǨҡºÃÔÉÑ·

- Return ticket infos

-Travelling plans in Europ and hotels+trasnportation booking.

-Some money in your account

- If youve got your own propeties like house, car whatever

-In case (or better have this too) you dont have any properties of your own, your parents can write a letter saying that their will sponsor ,responsible and quarantee your travelling and expenses by their properties+money.

It worked for me,so I hope it works for you too, whatever happens--just hope for the best :)

Good luck :)x

Use your parents' s statement will be ok as this can show that they can support you while you travel. I always use their statement when I don't have a job and want to travel and always work ja. Good luck na x

I didn't have any job but I've got a visa (easily). Just show your bank statement and itinerary. They don't care about your friends/ex-bfs or your job as long as you have enough money to stay in their countries... Good luck :-)
