I made promise to the Hindu god, if passed the thesis defend I would be a vegetarian for a month. I should start last month but I postpone cuz Andy came to Bangkok, I didn't wanna say... "hey I can't eat meat now" so better start this month.I started eating no meat yesterday. Starting is very very hard. I don't like veggie actually, but I had to control myself and think before eating. It's tempting when I see grilled pork, BBQ and Meat ball, fish ball... Yesterday, I went to join Thaksin and nominee goverment protest. I afraid I would be hungry and couldn't find veggie to eat. So I went to Gateaux house Siam bought some bread and brought to there. My friends just laugh, they said no worries "Kong Tub Tum" (Army of Buddha) had veggie food for free. I did try to be vegetarian many years back. I couldn't resist the temptation, so I stopped.

As you said, it's difficult at first, but once u get over the first week, things will be much easier for u. It's good for health, I heard from a lot of people that you will grow to like it after a certain period of time and will not want to eat meat again.
