The Best Poem of 2006

This poem was nominated by UN as the best poem of 2006,

written by an African Kid.

When I born, I black

When I grow up, I black

When I go in Sun, I black

When I scared, I black

When I sicked, I black

And when I die, I still black

And you white fellow

When you born, you pink

When you grow up, you white

When you go in sun, you red

When you cold, you blue

When you scared, you yellow

When you sick, you green

And when you die, you gray

And you calling me colored?

very nice, but they missed the Scots out of that poem; when we are born, we pink. When we grow up we sort of pale blue. When we go in sun we go white...then bright red.

Thanks for the poem!!

May, I'm not going to question if it's really a good poem are not. To each one his own. But I fear it's a little bit of an hoax or chain mail going around for years now.

I doubt the UN is going to nominate poems, as its task is completely different. At the UN-site ther's no proof of that kind of activaty.

THAIBEL* It might be a chain letter or whatever. It doesnt matter if there was such an activity going on thru UN or not. I'm sorry if there wasnt but the point of sharing this poem is to show how one kid feels thru racism. Like I said, my friend posted it on his wall, and I have never seen it until now. The pictures posted here are just those I found online to support this poem. Thats all.
