Here is the story,A couple of days ago, I was working with a secretary, I tried to draw a diagram of a conference room in a hotel in Pattaya. hrrrrrrrrrrr... haven't finish now. When I was doing that I got a phone call from a friend of mine... Yes farang friend, we tried to plan for the appointment.. and yes I spoke English with him. After I hung up, the secretary said I spoke English very well, à¢Ô¹ÇØé áËëà  "Naah, it's not that good" I said.... in my division... I got 2nd place of TOEIC score" hehe the 1st one graduated from USA. and I made in Thailand. My coworker laugh about this. Then my friend, Chicky came in my office... asked me about Thai comedy movie if I wanted to see with her... It was a Thai movie "Laung Pee ThaengII" ËÅǧ¾Õèà·è§2My coworker laughed louder, she turned to the secretary... and asked "Do you think it's contrast? she could speak English really well but look at the movie she wanted to see... so Baan nok ºéÒ¹¹Ã¡ and then she gave the list of Thai movie I went to see... Yaam Yasothorn áËÂà ÂâʸÃ, Goi tau Yom, â¡Âà¶ÃÃâÂÃ, Square Face Body guardà ºÃ´Õé¡ÒÃì´Ë¹éÒàËÅÕèÂÃ, Hor Taew Taek ËÃáµëÇᵡ etc.My coworker's comment was those kind of movie was so contast for me personality.Those all comedian movies, I think Thai jokes are fine for me, good for me, I could understand it so easy.... and they are just moves for entertain me... sometime I watch them cuz I don't wanna be serios just want to get super relaxation.Actually, there are many Thai movies those I could call them quality movie.. such as Ploy and Love of Siam (I have seen it more than 5 times, and made me cried) I don't like when people say about bad quality of Thai movie without seeing them. If we not support Thai movie factory how can they make that market grow... Why Korean could make people turn to see their movie... some movies from them suck, same as grade B movies from hollywood, right?Yeah I can speak good English (That from someone comment) and some of Farang friends said speak or chat with me make them feel like talking / chatting with farang female (not Thai) but those comments couldn't change me... I'm Thai 75% + Chinese 25 % but 100% of my thought is Thai na.I like Thai joke, Thai music, Thai food... what's wrong with that, right?

I have seen plenty of Thai movies...

I liked Love of Siam.

I searched for six months to find a DVD of Faen Chan with English subtitles to send back to my family in the UK

I thought Tony Jaa was fantastic in Ong Bak.

I thought Tom Yam Kung was dreadful.

Naresuan and Legend of Suriyothai were OK but overlong and difficult for Farangs to understand all the characters.

However... Without exception - the "funny" ghost stories, ladyboys and clown movies have all been terrible. I walked out of the cinema for Gig 2... truly awful movie - it was like it was written and filmed by teenagers.

There are plenty of funny Thai people - where's the subtlety? Where's the clever wordplay? Or the satire and social commentary?

Farting, funny voices, hitting people on the head, constipation, screaming, stereotyped gay people, people with Downs syndrome - Thailand is surely better than this.

I love Yaam Yasothorn!

i have seen ploy,fan chan and think those movies were great..i really wish to c more of thai movies.

It's not really my taste if you ask me, the movie those I like must be mysterious movie, about detectives such as Death Note 1, 2 and advantures such as Indiana Jones, and creative movie such as Be Kind Rewind.

I have seen that movie too.. i paid 140 baht to see it at Siam Pavalai, but I have seen only half of it.. cuz it was too scary, I closed my eyes.

Yeah I agree, sometimes I like funny movie I meant decent ones plus little bit naughty and little bit dirty joke... but many Thai comedy movies that I couldn't accept... Made me feel so sick. p'Dave, I think you should see Ma Kub Pra, Luang Pee Taeng 1, I love it. hehe. and 4 Praeng It's scary movie but the 3rd sub. movie was so fun.

Yaam Yasotorn is good... I mean the colours, the composition, I like it... Soundtrack wasn't bad, but I hate the last scene that Yaam's brother die in toilet... why they zoom in the **** on floor and toilet... YUCK!!

Try "Love of Siam", it's really, really good movie.... I couldn't stop crying jing jing... it's not only make you sad... but it made you feel "Love" not only BF / GF, but also the love in family, and friendship.

Last Thai Movie I watch in cinema was Me,Myself. I watch a very few Thai movie in cinema..

I love ËÅǧ¾Õèà·è§ áËÂà Ââʸà and a couple of other Thai movies that are really really Thai. I found a lot of Thai philosophies that are really clever and are almost forgotten. I think they are just confused that people who speak English have to value all things Western.

On the contrary, I found those who understand Western value and way of thinking do appreciate Thai way of thinking and philosophy more than those who are less expose to the Western world.
