Flower Market... and the two crazies... (I)

Yesterday, Marc and I went to Pak Khlong Talat (Flower Market) in BKK ... yes! to buy flowers for TF flower arrangement competition.. here is the info...http://www.thailandfriends.com/index.php?name=Journal&view=journal&juid=75919&jid=60109It's such a lovely day and a nice weather....  we got there at 11 am.and... after feeding stomach...  the little journey begins.... Pak Khlong Talat (Flower Market) is near Memorial Bridge (Êþҹ¾Ø·¸) put_bridge.jpg DSC02904.jpg    DSC02903.jpgduring the weekend... this road always has a big jam... busy area... and lots of car parkingDSC02894.jpg    DSC02889.jpg DSC02872.jpg    DSC02895.jpg¾Ç§ÃÒÅÑ (flowers festoon) is mostly used for paying respect to monks or elders or higher hierarchy... and also used in Thai traditional ceremony.DSC02875.jpg  DSC02871.jpgDSC02879.jpg DSC02885.jpgThese Â¾Ã’¹¾Øèà or Pan-Pum (flower tray) are used for Thai religious ceremony, marriage ceremony, blessing ceremony and gratitude ceremony.DSC02874.jpg Ã«Jasmin and Crown flower (or Calotropis giantea) used for flower festoon and tray are sold in KilogramDSC02890.jpgDSC02898.jpg .... hand made, of courseDSC02868.jpg   DSC02897.jpg DSC02896.jpg  DSC02873.jpg ............................................................. this is Pak Khlong Talat's signature... Man with basket (and wheels)..... you can ask him for carrying your stuff... one of the happiest and most fun days ive had for a while. Would recommend these markets to anyone who has not yet been, particularly farang. Amazing variety of beautiful flowers and Thai creativity. Nice journal ja :)

I really would like to visit the Flower Market, and I think when I return I will definately take a trip there. The pictures are nice and very informative comments.

I like the picture of the girl with the wrinkled nose as well. haha

Bushi>> you can visit this flower market during the night too... i would say it opens almost day and night...

and thank you for mentioning only the wrinkled nose, not eyes : p

Thanks, I will be checking it out for sure. Perhaps I will post a journal of my journey at that time with some pictures, and maybe a guy's wrinkled nose too :P
