This guy has a 1000BHP Bugatti Veyron worth $1,000,000.

He dumps it in a lake and then say there was a low flying bird that made him crash......What an ass!!!

These things cost approx 2 million GB Pounds to build and they sell for $US 1.7 million +

Top Gear did some research on it and found out that Bugatti lose a million quid on every one they sell.

If they sold it at the true cost we would never have seen the car. No one would have bought it.

Maybe it was an insurance job, lol

@ Gav; They've included the research and development cost when they say it costs 2 million pounds to manufacture one car.

As more cars get sold, the manufacturing cost will decrease accordingly. There's more than a years wait for the car if you want to buy one. No car gets made unless it's been sold first !!!

lots of wrong facts here on the Bugatti.

There will only ever be 300 made so the cost is fixed. (am not counting the Veyron Grand of which there will be 150 and whose costs and purchase price are separate)

The ACTUAL cost per Bugatti Veyron is 5 million GBP.

The selling price is around 810,00 to 850,000, making a huge loss per car of around 4.1 million GBP EACH!!

So why do it?

a) to show it could be done

to demonstrate the exclusivity of the Bugatti brand (thinking being that people who can't get a Veyron will choose another model)

But explain that thinking to the thousands of VW workers who are having to churn out extra Golfs to make up the shortfall.
