I was about to fly to NYC from Stockholm and was in line at the runway end for take off after an American Airlines.The air traffic controler who was a woman wanted to speed things up a bit and wanted to get the AA airborne before a plane on 8 miles final landed.So she says "American 91 are you ready for a quick one" off coarse meaning she wanted him airborne before the landing aircraft.Its quiet for a little while and the guy in the AA plane answers "yes mam but I have to go to Chicago first"

My favorite one of these is from Formula 1 a few years. There had been an accident at the start with one car running into the back of another. The interviewer was talking to the driver of the first car, and uttered the immortal phrase

"So tell us what it's like to be rammed up the rear by Rolf Schumacher".
