I moved here to NYC to look for new life opportunity and got lucky with work. Found good firm to work with very quickly. There are some other worries I have had and one of them is the COLD!!Today is the coldest day of this winter season and my friend told me since yesterday to prepare. So today I wore 5 layers of tops, gloves, hat and scarf and still felt soooo cold on my face. There was sunshine but have snow in New Jersey where I travel to work by train. No snow in NYC. My boss throw a XMas lunch for all staffs at a good pub/restaurant today and we had half day off to celebrate together. And after that I had to walk to train station to come back to NYC..The coldest walk ever....yeah really....

Very cold like walking in a big fridge...grrrrrrrr..But the good news is that I STILL SURVIVE!!!! So the temperature today is -6 Celcius....... !!!

It's been -10C here (Woodinville, Washington) without the will chill every night for the last week and only warms up to about -6c during the day. Today it warmed up to -2c with sunshine and it felt like a heat wave. You will get used to it.

I remember after visitng Thailand last X''Mas .. The weather was nice..

Then we came back to Sweden and we live in the forest..

the rest of the year in NY makes up for the cold though! It's a great city and so much fun when it's not freezing! You'll just have to meet someone to stay warm with ;-) ;p

Well, technically is not even winter season yet as it starts on Dec 21. If you are suffering now, get ready for January then. BTW, I'm traveling in North Carolina for 2 weeks and it's getting down to -3 C so I share your feeling. Problem with NYC when you walk in the cold is the windshield becuase of the strong winds within the tall buildings, that cold air is icy...

Buy some ear muffs, nothing worse than cold ears.

I visited NY one march not realising how cold it was still going to be there, sill loved the city though it has fantastic architecture and a great music scene, hopefully I will go back again soon.

Amy;

when it gets to be too much plan a long weekend trip to North Carolina...Andon is right unusally cool (not cold ) now.

But the winters here have nice break (10-20 degree C) and sunshine ...so come down to play and thaw out! :)

(Then there is always Florida and Micky Mouse!)
