I was watching TV last night and they talked about these amazing roses being displayed at the department store near my place. Having to run some errands there today, I decided to stop by to take a look with my own eyes. Most of them are on the verge of withering away, but some still look good. Unfortunately my camera phone didn't seem to focus at the right spot to make good photos. I hope you enjoy these bizarre yet amazing roses.  PS sorry... forgot to resize the photos!

EB -- It looked pretty real to me though. Touching it with my hand and no dye was coming out. Also more info I found online.

The colouring process of the rainbow rose is a natural process where the rose-branch absorbs all the different colorants. What makes the colouring process of the rainbow rose unique is that the inventor is able to manage the colours of all the individual petals. The rainbow rose is the best and easiest colour combination of this colouring process, because in the rainbow roses(with every colour in it) you don’t see the failed colours.

You missed the first part of the article...

"The rainbow rose has been developed by a collaboration of a breeder and a wholesaler of roses. The breeder has specialized herself on PAINTING flowers and has developed this process further throughout the years. The breeder has a worldwide patent on this process. After the PAINTING process was developed, the breeder started PAINTING and selling their Chrysanthemum.

In 2006, by coincidence, the breeder had contact with the biggest and most specialized wholesaler in roses. After multiple experiments, and painting lots of roses, they succeeded in producing a painted Vendela rose of high quality. They decided to work together. The wholesaler buys the roses at the flower auction and then brings the roses to the breeder. They do the PAINTING and sent the roses back to the wholesaler. From their business establishments at FloraHolland, (Aalsmeer, Rijnsburg, Westland) the rainbow roses are sold to exporters from different countries."

Sorry, they don't spray them, they put the dye into the stem while it's growing.

P'Nicky -- Not that I would love to receive one. It's just amazing to see what ppl r capable of doing with technology, knowledge and most of all curiosity. I love very traditional and classic red roses more than anything as well!

EB -- That sounds real enough to me. Not natural but real.

P'Tudtu -- Well noted ka!!! ^_^
