Am just sitting in a restaurant on the river looking at an amazing view of Wat Arun all lit up. Pity I couldn't get an outside table though. I keep having to leave mine to take photos. :-(

Bangkok is a great night city in that respect. I love seeing the bridges light up.

Where you are has gives a nice, calming effect.

The place is called the Arun Residence. They have a roof terrace bar, with great views. Gets pretty busy with tourists wanting to watch the sunset, and the temple lighting up.

The restaurant was recommended to me by a friend who is a tour guide.

Perhaps it was the choices I made, but I didn't rate the food that much.

Le Beaulieu last night was much better imho.

if you take a boat along Chaopraya River, it will bring you to my new house... I drive across Chaopraya river everyday, but I can't enjoy the view cuz i can't take my eyes out of the road. jealous you now.

Neung... Yes, but you can go to the river any weekend. I can only do it while I am here. :-)

about 6 years ago, we used to go to this little restaurant calledthe boat (i think) that sat out in the chao praya near montien riverside hotel near rama 2 bridge. it was magic. you had to walk up this rickety wooden planks and sit at an uneven table. but the view, truly magical at nite time. only in bangkok
