I been working in Afghanistan for the last 4 years. If you asked me what I did 2 days ago I would tell you the exact same thing I'm doing right now, and if you asked what I did 2 years ago, the response would be the same. I'm getting burned out and I don't think I can stick around here much longer. Things would be different if I didn't have a crackhead for a boss.

Then get the **** out. Repetition induces not only boredom but also reduces concentration. And in that part of the world you're liable to get your ass shot off if not paying attention! Stay safe!

As the news tell me, it has not gotten better since I was there last in 2008 - in the contrary. So as Iain said, a break would be good not only for your mind but probably also for your physical well-being!

Down there, things are not getting better - I still remember 2002, when I could walk around in Kabul without fear and also do some trips around, something that already in 2008 was impossible to do.
