This is your brain on drugs

I been working in Afghanistan for the last 4 years. If you asked me what I did 2 days ago I would tell you the exact same thing I'm doing right now, and if you asked what I did 2 years ago, the response would be the same. I'm getting burned out and I don't think I can stick around here much longer. Things would be different if I didn't have a crackhead for a boss.

I want to have a suit case handcuffed to my wrist

The weather is starting to change again, much quicker then I thought it would happen.  Cold weather is definitely something I’m not looking forward to.  I started pulling out all me cold weather gear the other day, just so that I could be prepared.     Random Happenings: 1.  I got a iPhone on my last trip to Thailand.  Now that I have one, I don’t know how I could ever live without it.  Apparently I got one that is super-duper unlocked and I can take it anywhere in the world and hav

UH-60

I thought it was cool at first, but after working with these things for 2 years I hate them!  Well, I'm not sure if it really hate them.  It could just be work that I hate - I just know I hate something.

Treasure Hunting

When I was a little kid, well even now, I used to go through my parents old stuff.  I loved finding old pictures and just old stuff in general.  When my mom passed I went through her things to find pictures, and came across all kinds of things.  I got to see her grades from when she graduated from college (I guess I wasn't the only person that sucked at math) and I had no I idea my dad graduated from Thammasat with an Econimics degree.  I found pictures of my dad playing the drums, I asked him a

Canada, eh?

I was in Canada last month with some friends.  The last time I was up in Canada I was six or seven and the only thing I could remember was that I swore that I saw Madonna in Vancouver.  Now its like this weird twilight version of the US. (I really like this picture; I need a caption)     This section is dedicated to flowers...from Canada. All these pictures were taken with Canon's new 7d.  I had the chance to noodle a

I Hate Being Spontainious

When I went back home to Cali, I ended up buying a car...totally unplanned and not needed.  Why couldn't I have walked in to a fish store instead of a VW dealership.     In other news.  I'll be back to Thailand at the end of them month for my mom's 100 day funeral thingy.  I'll be in Bangkok running around like a chicken with its head cut off, but once everything settles I'm planning on spending the rest of my time training at Tiger Muay Thai down in Phuket.  Anyone wanna come?

Fuzzy Bunny

I'm a contractor for the US Government and I'm working overseas in Afghanistan.  Since I'm a civilian, I get uber vacation benefits.  I have all the opportunity to travel anywhere I want for 21 day at a time, every 2 months - paid, plus travel expenses.  I'm only allowed 35 days to stay at home, any more then that, I get taxed up the yin-yang.  The only places I go is Thailand (because I know people and most of my family still live there) and California which is home for me.I would love for my f

Valen-times

In high school I swore that this holiday was created to make single people feel unloved and lonely.  I'm happy that, that's not the case anymore...I don't even know it's Valentines until I walk into the super markets and see all the decorations.

I'm Hooked

I was walking in the mall a few week ago and saw hear this band doing a cover of Silly Fools - it sounded great!  I asked the sales person who that was and he told me Da Endorphine.  Ever since then I haven't listen to anything else.

Discrimination

Me and six other of my friends went out today and decided they wanted to check out what the hype is about an A-Go-Go bar, since none of them have ever been to one...including me.  After a few beer from the local Family Mart we headed out for our adventure.  We found one in the a few soi's down the street.  Racing pass all the "hello welcomes" we made it to the door - finally!  We all started to walk inside until I came the door.  A little Thai guy about 5'4 stopped me and blurted something in Th

A Novel

I just started reading this book today and I can't put it down.  As you all know Facebook is growing ever so popular and things travel and spread at incredible speeds.  Black.  I'm doing the male version. ...indirect fire.  Bunker time - peace.

Chinatown B-Boy

When I'm back home, if I'm not walking around in the supermarket for 2 hours only to come out with a carton of milk, I would be in Chinatown.  I took this picture of my friend Miko, just before I left.

Avatar and Inflation

I saw Avatar a few days ago and loved every bit of it.  But when that guy started talking about Unobtanium and how it cost $20 million a kilo back home, I couldn't stop thinking about how the economy and inflation would be in 2154!  I mean when you think about it, especially the way things are going now for the might (puny) U.S. Dollar; I think with $20 million, I might be able to buy a Slurpee from 7-11 or a Happy Meal.

10 Things I'd Would Have Told My Younger Self

10.  Eating an entire large pizza alone is not something to be proud of...sheesh!9.  Don't even thing about paying your friends with baseball card in exchange for doing your homework.  There is a reason why you suck at Math.8.  It's okay to like and write poetry, when you get older chick will find you sexy.7.  If you wanted to join the Army, go to college first and become an Officer and not Enlisted.6. Milk is not your enemy.5. Don't worry so much about the size of it...it get bigger, trust me.4

Resolution count down 2010

And here it comes again, New Year’s resolution time.  Every year we start to make their resolutions, let it be from losing weight to getting out of debt, either way it’s a promise that that we make to ourselves.  Last year I made a resolution to spend more time to with my parents rather than going out with my friends.  That resolution broke as soon as I boarded that plane to Afghanistan.    This year I want to keep some my resolutions in arms reach.  Resolution # Uno:  Continue to stay ac

Beachball of Death

I recently bought a refurbished MacBook Pro as a upgrade to my old MacBook Pro I bought in 2005 and sold to my brother.  Ever since I gotten this machine I've been having problems with it and I'm pretty fed up.  I wish I could just walk into the Apple store and get it fixed, but since the closes store is thousands of miles away, I can't.  I guess I'm just going to have to tough if out and wait a few more months till I go home.  Let see if I can't make it without throwing this thing out the windo

Work

It starting to snow here in Afghanistanland, which means no work!  Today I sat in my office all day watching movies and drawing stick figures...I love being lazy once in a while.  Anyways, it was my friend's birthday today and I was able to send her a gift, a LensBaby!  It was one of those gifts you wanted, but knew the other person would like it too.  Anyways, if I were ever so blessed to had a kid, I want him/her to be just like this one...nose picking and everything.

Movie Re-enactment

After every movie I watched as a kid I always wanted to Re-enact them.  Other then the normal Star Wars and Terminator movies,  that I so passionately loved;  I've always wanted to re-enact Never Ending Story.  Flying around in a giant Labrador, eating rocks, and what I thought was the coolest, finding that book.   Just curious what movies you all want to re-enact.

Oh I Remember

Its been so long since I been on TF or my Xanga site and blogged, I almost forgot how much I loved it.  I was looking at all my old post and remembered that I used to take a lot of photos.  Almost every entry had some kind of picture that I took from that day.  This is when blogging circles back and makes you realize why you started in the first place.  I have pictures that I forgot I even took and some that I was amazed to see again! Here are some random pictures.

Only In Dreams

Only a few songs can bring me back to when I was young, care free and without a worry in the world.  When I listen to the last song from Weezer's Blue album, Only In Dreams, I get caught in a whirl and get zapped back to when I was 14.  Actually all the songs form the Blue album and The Bends from Radiohead.  Man...I really heart music.
