space space space!!!

ok!...i'm a living zombie wanderring around in my suicide mission.

here is my statement of the day..

"there's no cool guy exist"

-atomic-

we are all sex organs, we were born to carry on our genetical evolution. so..sex is our heart and soul. tut tut tut!!! we have biggest brains among all species though...ok so we should have some morallity, not just be an instinctive driven living things.

then what else???

reading some TFs 'more about me'

oh my buddha!!!...they say something like...if you are not smart...don't even think about contacting me...

WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

lemme tell you something...

i have never met anyone that is stupid, everybody is smart...that is because...knowledge is in ourselves....we just need some help to discover it. it can be a self-help by putting our thought into a matter deeply...and understanding will surely arise.

or we can learn from our circumstances...externalize it and absorb it back as an artifact.

so, if you ever say sth like 'i'm smart, you are not..pls stay away' or...'i'm (desperately) looking for a smart person to contact with'...i

then i suggest you to start from revising your attitude first before considering others as a dumb ass! coz such a statement like that triggers me to wonder if i'm encounting the very first 'stupid' person or what!

secondly, to prove that everyone is intellectually equal...try to read some non-fiction books and ask yourself...'is there anything the author says that you cannot think of it by yourself if you really put your mind into it?'

see!...there's no cool guy exist!!!...

A+B+C+D+E = we are all common people. we hold ourselves tight with the 7 sins. we are no angels!

get lost..smartass! we are all smart and stupid!

ciao!

Hey, Tammy says I'm an angel! Oh well. Most of what you have written I have read a long time ago in "the republic of Plato" Either you have read this book or you are Plato reincarnated. You're not Greek are you? You must have read the book. (only kidding, only kidding.)

Invariably some time during the term a student will stick up his or her hand to ask a question, and will precede the question with, "This is probably a stupid question, but...."

I want to encourage my students to ask questions whenever possible, even if they are about simple material, to make sure everyone understands. So I always tell them this little thing to help encourage them to ask:

"There are no stupid questions.

Only stupid people."

I try to say it with a straight face ;)

One thing Plato did NOT suggest in the Republic was that all people were intellectual equals. Quite the opposite. Plato's Republic is not a democratic egalitarian society. It is a society stratified by wisdom and intellectual capacity, ruled over by a philosopher-king, a sort of wise and benevolent dictator, but ultimately someone who knows far better what is best for people than they do themselves. The society incorporates the teaching of "necessary lies", myths for social conditioning. Only those in the upper echelons understand that these are manipulations intended for the greater good. Actually Huxley's Brave New World I think is a sort of science fiction version of Plato's ideal Republic.

What Plato did write about, possibly in the Republic also but more extensively in other dialogues, is the idea that knowledge of all things resides in our souls (which are independent of our bodies) and is carried into us when we are born. Learning is a process of remembering what we already knew.

MAN!...i just had a little argument/discussion about this with Bobby a while ago!

i would argue that learning is not teh process of remembering...literally it's the process of 're-issue or 're-membering' or 're-discoverring'...becoz we did not forget what have been imbedded in us since we were born...we did not recognize what we have had until we encountered specific circumstances that helped us re-vitalize what has been sleeping inside us.

knowledge and instinct are not the same thng in this case...for instinct...maybe we need to 'remember' but for knowledge...i think we need to 're-member'

Ling, that was a pretty good interpretation of Plato (not just from the republic). Plato gives all the credit to Socrates (who didn't write anything down), as i'm sure you know. I think Socrates was more about dialectics than ideas as such.

Atomicflower, we did not disagree. Your ideas are ideed very similar to those that Plato wrote about.

Physiologically speaking, the as of yet undiscovered bio-chemical processes within the brain, which form the mechanical function we interpret as thought, may indeed vary from individual to individual. Therefore the possibility of varying degrees of intellectual potential between two people does exist. This variance is commonly mistaken as a measured scale ranging from ?stupid? to ?smart?. The truth of the matter is that a scale with objective measures must be employed, departing from the subjective connotations associated with words such as ?stupid? and ?smart?.

But I?m too stupid to figure out what that objective scale should be!

well...silver dolphin, i know exactly what you mean. it's like if we ahve one task to accomplish, there are several methods in doing that. we then access to out library to choose the best method. experience, consciousness ands decision making might lead to a poor method.this makes ppl unpredictable when compared with computer. it's more like a 'practice' as well. hench, u can argue that humans have different intellectual qualities and they are not always meet each other's intellect. but that SHOULD NOT BE SUBJECTED for judging people because we are all common people who need food and shelter...the basic instinct keeps us being human, and when it comes down to that matter...we are all equal...not to mention that any smartass can be an ass***e as well...coz that's what it is...ass has a hole!....(i dont specifically mean anyone in particular)...we are all common people...

despite Plato, Socretes or Aristotle or Einstein...
