Riding in Bangkok!!!

Question

I'm sure some of you know that I have this:

07022008102.jpg

But, I almost exclusively use one of these:

Yamaha+Mio+ZR+new+scooter+high+price.png

(Exactly like this one. Reg A Quarter to 7 if you see me let on.)

To get to work and back and around the city. To be honest, it makes getting about a breeze. Running and maintenance costs are pennies and a small fraction of what a big bike costs.

Apart from the near death experiences, I love riding around Bangkok.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RL0sbnySX4 (Watch if you're only really bored.)

Anyone else riding around Bangkok?

Anecdotes?

...if I can go...I might be willing to take a straggler...maybe.

Now here's a decision maker.

Why can't everyone be more like this?

Subtle...aren't I???

I am really struggling with which bike I am gonna get...but as I sit here in a blissful stupor...I think I have chosen....

I would say I will post pics here, but obviously I can't even get the quotes right...

so don't hold your breath. :rotate:

Mate if you're spending quite a bit you've every right to take your time.

Just hurry up about it.

wilco...as in...will comply.

no longer than another week and I will have an answer.

Mate, something you might not have considered...

You could very easily pick up a 20 thousand something scooter (there are tons around) to use in the meantime until you find something you're really after, and then part ex it.

If you lost anything at all (I doubt you would if you insisted you got 30 for it and were paying cash for the difference), it would probably work out less than renting something for the day.

Even if they didn't want it you could flog it for the same price.

Just a thought.

My dear brother,

I am not simply looking to find a way or the means to join this fine outing...

I am looking at the long term in the form of 190 HP under my balls every time I feel the itch!

and it shall be so. :rotate:

Gotcha.

You sound like the kind of bloke that might want to stay with me next run down to Pataya and Rayong.

But are you the bloke that keeps saying sorry I got lost in traffic a bit back there?

Or the bloke who keeps whining where the **** were you?

Muahahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....

Depneds...on an open or twisty rode? probably the latter.

Depends???

Ahahahahhhhhaaaaa you lose already!!!!

It is what it is mate you know that.

Ok it's a Sunday morning run to Pattaya in an hour give or take on marginally windy roads with right big bastard potholes in all the right places.

I'm only on a "sports tourer" (ok the fastest sports tourer there is), so you shouldn't have any problems keeping with me.

Unless that is...

You're a *****!!!!

HAAHHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Muahahahaaaa!!!!!!!

You're both a pair of ******* and I'll leave you both in my dust.

(Sorry, I feel I should have ended that last sentence with an exclamation mark.)

I will keep looking for the big bike as I needed just for that day...usually I ride the 125 cc everyday so ,I think I can get it in Onnut or Srinakarin but unitll then I have plenty of time to find it..

I already gave my spare bike to Karnie ja sorry, or I'd gladly lend it to you.

You're as cute as a chocolate button.

If you can't find anything, let me know. I might be able to borrow something for you.

well maybe...and truth be told he would probably be more into riding down to Soi 6 than going on a real ride, but for the record...I'm down for the ride.

We'll see how bad you are my brother...just let me warm up my tires.

Mate, wait until you've spent a few weeks on 2 wheels on Bangkok roads.

Warm tyres?

You can't afford such luxury.

This isn't back home. Your mere existence on the road system is warrant enough for your early demise. Your death would mean little if anything when compared to the 1 car advantage someone could gain by occupying your place in the middle lane.

I think you might need a few tips on how to survive before you actually get out there.

Starting with your death on the road means nothing to anyone else but you.

homey...been driving in this mess for quite a while now...just not on a bike...yet. I am hoping my 20+ years on bikes and current combat traffic experience here will give me a slightly longer life span than someone just learning to ride a bike here.

BTW, what the hell are you drinking??? Guess I shouldn't assume it's a drink, huh?
