Treborz
When I was last in BKK i spend the evening in a bar called Billicay or billericay or something like that. Food was excellent, good pool tables, reasonable prices for drinks. It is more or less opposite the Nana hotel. I did get pestered by a couple of women but then i guess it was to be expected given the area. Anyone else been here?
khun_lung
It seems like some of you guys (and I emphasize "guys" because I haven't noticed any female complaints) want to paint Gulliver's Soi 5 as a glorified brothel. I won't say that Gulliver's is hooker-free (what places are?), but it's a place that I wouldn't hesitate at all to take a "respectable" lady for a meal, drinks, sports TV or even a friendly (no betting allowed) game of pool. There have been numerous TF events held there and I've heard no complaints from anyone. At least it's a place where you can party and TALK, not listening to eardrum-bursting bands or DJ's. When I began this thread I simply wanted to point out that on any given evening, go to Gulliver's and you're quite likely to run into other TF'ers, both male and female. And having said that, it seems that it *is* fast becoming a rallying point for impromptu TF gatherings. Cheers!

khun_lung
The food is dire, try the Chicken Cordon Bleu if you really want a laugh. It's not all that bad. The fish and chips is excellent, their hamburgers are arguably among the best in town (without cheese which is tasteless there) and the chicken pot pie is surprisingly good. And their Thai menu is quite good I'm told. Yes, it's not all great.

inamorato25
Haven't been to Gulliver's yet, but I'll hit there when I get to BKK so I can join the fray. Sounds like a fun place. As for the clientele there, basically, if it's a bar in BKK, expect freelancers. After jacking up their cover charge to try to lower the FL numbers, even bars like Spasso still get full of FL. It's just a part of the BKK environment. But more importantly, who gives a rat's ass? They're doing their thing, and you're doing yours. This whole thing about "decent" vs. "less than decent" women is an argument that just leads to same never ending threads we've seen before. I don't care who is in the bar with me, as long as everybody is smiling and having a blast. Anyway, I'm not a very decent guy, so where the hell does that leave me?? English_George
Gulliver's is a bit of everything as everyone's said, it's like something of everything all at once kind of mosh pit, you've got Italian street deco, the working girls, the good girls out for a good time, the bad girls out for a good time, the russians, the mafia, good food, great pool action, great sports coverage, spacious, not a bad bottle of wine and finally the Con men, of which whom made me laugh considerably when i was given the oldest line in the book, it really made my night and shows the uniqueness that Gullivers Soi 5 can bring. Answering the question about the probability of meeting other TF'ers down at Gulliver's Soi 5...........well, the clientelle I've seen down there is pretty much what i see on here!!! People looking for a chat and whatever tickles their fancy, or not.
Guest
good food. Gullivers right? Soi five right? Bangkok right? Am I the only person here without shares in this bar?

The first time I ever went there, a bunch of rowdy Australian guys felt the need to express their appreciation rather lewedly and loudly. Somehow between that, the number of guys leering and trying to take you home for the night and all the freelance hookers wandering around all doped up- I somehow came to dislike the place. I went there for one TF event. The crowd we were with was great - wander off and you get your leg humped - I'll pass thanks. I'd be pretty irritated if someone asked me out and took me to Gullivers! I wouldn't even go there with friends.

English_George
It's not that bad guys???????? If you want to have a game of pool and watch the footy please tell me somewhere better in Sukhuvit. Wide screen TV and a decent menu, I'm no fine food connoisseur, but the menu's ok. As for the girls, well, free mints in the toilet doesn't mean you have to have one does it? Can someone who has said that it is a terrible place suggest somewhere better in Sukhumvit ( 1-40) where I can play pool on a good table and get a pitcher of beer that doesn't taste like pipe cleaner? 711_Dimsum
I gotta thank the TF mobile party crew for showing me Gullivers.I would have never discovered that place on my own.I like it, but Im a pool player and umm...the ques..well...'nuff said. But the food is pretty good pub food...and its not the ho fest i thought it might be.Seems it would be a good place to watch some sporting event.Cant remeber how much a beer was..but i liked the atmosphere..big place too...surprised. I have no problem with the hookers there, what pisses me off is when they let them in the kitchen. I have odered "food" in this establishment three times now and will never do so again. I didn't realise you could get premium membership to this website in exchange for your taste buds.

farangy
After being quite indifferent to it, I quite like 'garee whir'. Food is decent, good place to watch sports, one doesn't get attacked by girls, and it's in a good location to meet up with other Sukhumvitters.
