zeusbheld
.... But newer members to the site or less frequent members hit back and course a desent debate, hes struck out and banned from the site.... nah. if newer or less frequent members can figure out how to hit back without making an outright personal attack, they wouldn't get banned. actually they could probably get away with a personal attack if they didnt throw a hissy fit when they get bitchslapped by a molestator, but instead sat quietly until the yellow cards go away. but generally they cannot do that, they'd rather implode in a tantrum of self-righteous anger over something as trivial as a warning on a website. and it ain't just new / infrequent members who have done that. 711_Dimsum
Hmm...I can only sumise as to what they reasons would be. I do have some girl-friends here and some have told me they were turned off by the comments and advances made by some members here. As for girls, it goes both ways. Some guys may just curiously ask about something said in a profile only to nver hear a response, unfriendly ppl all around. Also, I think the younger demographic have moved over to myspace. Many TF ppl there.I think killing the codecs here had a little something do with it.Plus one can say what they want or post any picture, however risque, without coming under the thumb of some admin/mods. farang_subson
Case study: this cat starts posting in his journal a few months ago (http://www.thailandfriends.com/samsrex&show=journal#here). He made some "slice of life in Bangkok" videos. Personally, I think they're cool, but look at the reception he got from the "old-timers" (check out the "tuk-tuk" and "JJ" journal entries). That's not the first time I've seen that kind of response. It's all very natural, in a way, but I can't imagine it helps business. Anyway, to me, the coolest thing about TF is the chance to meet Thai women who are considerably more educated and worldly than those on the other Thai-oriented dating sites. And you don't need the journals and forums for that.

Go back to trolling profiles.
cerberus1264
As another TF old timer, I've also noticed that as my brother Zeus mentioned, it comes and goes in spurts.... Personally I have just not had the time or speedy connections to be my usual Jornal bashing self.... I miss the days when poeple like Me, johnno, sprite, Zeus, bobbyboy, Jimba and many others had fun in peoples journals..... I enjoy seeing jokes posted but personally hate when SONGS are posted....Grrrrrrr I will be a lifetime member for life because this site has introduced me to some of the finest ppl I know.......Some are lost, some pop by my profile from time to time, some are new friends.....but all are friends and thats why I'm here....

lizardo
well the best way to keep tf as it was in the glory golden years is by resticting membership to the guys and girls who were members in the 1st year... then all forum entries can be discussions on a circular sophistric nature where everyone knows everyone and these endless barbs can then be pointed at the ones who belong to the tf family.the real founding fathers...ney mothers... and then anyone else who simply uses the website as an aside to real life should be banished as unworthy.. and be told get F&^%e* and be red carded after paying their membership....oooh then we can return to the halcion days where Tf was...and is the way forward... skurfer
i think you just need some trouble makers. bottomline is if you have someone stirin' the pot alil in a forum they always tend to be alittle more exciting. you can only discuss the fat old men leaving nana so many times ya know what i'm sayin. zeusbheld
Not everyone is as knowledgeable as the mighty and respected. But, however the mighty and self-respected see themselves, it is their duty to nurture the willing student. I believe even the most vitriolic would agree. I am not yet so jaded to believe otherwise. Zombiedriven
Well ofcourse I am new to TF so far I have figured out a couple of things people here don't really care who you are for the most part. Hell that is pretty much how I live by if you got some mud to throw just throw it hell even @ me cuz I can say some crappy remark it happens. As for myspace it sucks all I get there is freggin spam too many people. Look on my friends list on bolt2 about the same thing will happen here it just fades that site even had a premium membership thing for a while where they were kicking off people who did not have a account with them for more than a year. Most of the people on my friends list on bolt2 have not been online for more than a year it went from having 1000+ people online to the max I have seen in the last few years was 220 that is a small amount of people for such a big site. But back to subject TF is a place that I like at least I dont get overlooked on the first take my profile has been already viewed more times than my bolt2 account in 7 years that is sad but hey TF rocks I look foward to seeing what will happen next here.
