Mr. mike,

Thanks for supplying the Scottish A~Z of who?s who,

But what has this to do with the Question: ?What have the Scots ever won??

Jackie Stewart did win the F1 world championship 3 times,

Like I said credit where credit?s due.

And now for the famous Australians, I don?t think,

None that you copied, oops, I mean listed come even close to being famous,

Come on, who?s heard of any of them, I haven?t nor I recon has anyone else in TF,

Including you,

Wining a Nobel prize doesn?t make someone famous, at least not to the world outside

Their own circle,

Churchill, Washington, Mother Teresa, Gandhi, Hitler (infamous),

Even Beckham, and one for you, Kylie.

That?s famous, instantly recognisable names and/or faces to most of the world.

As for Aussie sports, show me where I said they aren?t any good ,

And as for UK sporting achievements, well it?s crap because ...

Forget it, that?s another (long) discussion on it?s own.

Aussie film& music stars,

I tried my best but hurt my sides laughing too much, and if i carry-on

I think I?ll piss myself, sorry it?s not funny, no, really.

I got to admit I had to laugh at your question, trying so hard to find a smoke screen for your sheila cricket teams performance. And of course I cut and pasted, you think I would type that crap out, good grief man what is it you smoke??

Anyway, you haven't bothered to read what is in that list and just because you havent heard of them it doesn't mean they are not famous in other, more learned, circles. You know some people don't look for publicity or commit genocide to become famous. In my list I show some of the greatest achievers the world has ever seen, and you select Hitler, Kylie and Becks as examples of what you consider to be "famous". Good grief man LMAO.

Today's Daily Telegraph :

Had to laugh at all this emotion by England after winning with ONE BALL to spare, wow what a victory!!!!

"ON THEIR 72nd day in the country, after nine losses and three draws, England yesterday finally, nervously, won a cricket match.

The elusive victory arrived not only belatedly in the tour, but in the match, coming with only one ball to spare when Andrew Flintoff clipped a four to overtake New Zealand's score of 205 at Bellerive Oval. England won with three wickets in hand.

Having not tasted victory since October 28, when they triumphed over the West Indies in a dead rubber at the Champions Trophy, the English were prepared to take a win of any sort, even against a small island nation on an even smaller island.

"Let's get it straight ? we have had a tough tour, we have not won any games and I am sure you guys are sitting in this room thinking, 'Crikey, we can finally talk about England winning a game' ? that is exactly how we feel as players," said skipper Michael Vaughan."

4th match

England 155 (42 ov)

Australia 156/6 (38.4 ov)

Australia won by 4 wickets (with 68 balls remaining)

Not as easy as the scoreline suggests

A strange days cricket

England actually bowled well!!

And they batted well, at least for the first 10 overs, thanks to new ?boy? Loye (34yr old)

But collapsed from there on

Australia batted poorly but as usual there is always someone down the order that does what?s required. Well done to Hussey and Lee

Making Flintoff captain again has to be a mistake. Give it to someone else and let Flintoff do what he?s best at.

Not sure England will get a better chance than today to chalk up a win against Australia.

I don?t see Australia allowing themselves another batting performance like the one today.

It?s Sydney on Sunday for another crack at the Kiwis

Avagoodweekend :)

Question:

1/ What in all of history have the Irish or Scots EVER won, sport or otherwise?

2/ Name a famous Australian, inventor or otherwise?

I wait with interest to see list.

Hahahahahaha.

I'm a bit late with this, but even as an Englishman, I must add the Australian with whom most middle aged Brits were brought up...

England all out for 111 they are kidding.

LMAO it really is sad, personally they should have gone home and spent the time polishing up their MBE'e ;)

England 10 - 110, Australia 1 - 91, seems accurate, 1 Aussie for 10 POMS. Well after all it is Australia Day.

From the SMH to my mate Stu :

England outdid itself with an even more diabolical batting collapse than usual today, bowled out for a measly 110 from 34.3 overs in the Australia Day tri-series match at Adelaide Oval.

It was the lowest limited-overs total at the ground since a better English side knocked over Pakistan for 74 in a rained-out match during the 1992 World Cup.

The Australians had little trouble reaching 1-54 in the 12 overs before the dinner break, leaving them only 67 shy of an easy victory, their fifth from as many games in the tournament.

In front of a sold-out crowd and on a pitch offering no great favours to bowlers, the English set new standards of ineptitude after their captain Andrew Flintoff had won the toss.
