Thai girls like to have many gigs , fun is the priority in life, and bending the truth to make onesself look better. face face face; fun fun fun

a fantasy world, built on lies.

you have a relationship with a farang girl, it is an honest relationship. serious if you like

I'm not saying all thai girls are different, but there are a great number that play around and are incapable or not interested in a serous reltionship

a bit like a 16 yo farang girl.

Dude, you said you have been hangin around in the 'higher echelons' of Thai society. By the sounds of it this means hanging round Q Bar with expensive hookers. Get out there and meet the 90%+ of Thai girls who are not how you describe and stop making yourself look so ignorant.

Guess cos the idea of 'free sex' is to contadictory with Thai cult& image ..the compromise result in having something a bit more serious than free sex --> gig

.. have gigs doesnt always mean have sex .. i call all my colleagues men that go out with me gigs, because we enjoy doing activities together while some others of my colleagues dont.. and I never had sex with one

i dont understand this bit;

i am sorry to say this but i have heard and seen any and we can guess at once where these foreigners hang around also where you learn the thai language from *sigh*

is a comprehensble version possible?

i didnt say all thai girls are like that. i did say not all thai girls are the same.

but my experience is that alot of thai girls have many gigs, and are concentrated on the short term pleasure of these relationships

for example my hairdresser has a male and female gig, an employee of hers was offered to me as a gig, she offerered herself to me as a gig

and no giles it has nothing to do with qbar, i am not talking about prostitutes i am talking about every day working thai girls, in normal jobs

Did it occur to you that when some Thai girls talk about 'gig' they are doing it is a tongue and cheek way? i.e. if she says 'we can be gig', it does not neccessarily mean she wants to have sex with you, although she might be a flirting.

In my 3 1/2 years in Thailand I have met fewer easy 'every day working' women than I have in the west. Again, I question the sort of people you spend time with.

Cherry's post, while not in perfect English, was fully comprehensible. I congratulate any poster on here who is brave enough to contribute in a language that is not native to them. BTW, how is your Thai coming along?

Whatever Mr.D's brilliant anti-social or against-everything opinions recently in journals or forum posts, it's definitely not the typical voice from Australia or Melbourne ~ we do think before we speak ~ and we are friendly and positive people in general

Wallace, if I may correct an error in your post.

I believe you meant to write: "~ we do DRINK before we speak ~" :P

I am a Thai girl - Born and raised in Thailand. NEVER HAD and will NEVER HAVE a gig. Do NOT count me in, PERIOD

*my unasked advice - use "some" when you wanna refer to quantity of people or things when you are not stating it precisely*

Totally agreed with ThePunisher & Dr_Sassy.

I've heard of many foreigners judge people by the minor group of people they have met. That's sad cause they cannot broden their mind. Stop being stereotyped cause that minority doesnt' represent the whole nation.

Good one !! Love ya !! :P

thank you jhoney, dr sassy , lady vin and a few others for your constructive and informative comments

disappointingly however alot of you are off topic at best, and talking rubbish. you are ruining my thread with your babble and false accusations

I'm not in a good mood, maybe i will prompt my freind to get his freind to pay the MIT a visit perhaps drop a billion baht on his way out and get this website banned from thai isp's

You must be kidding.. Difference is that many thai talk more openly about gigs, mia- and pua noi's.. Seems that foreigners do it more secretly..

Exactly.. Not only something from the minority.. Heard the word gig suprisenly often from girls and ladies with different backgrounds and in different areas in Thailand..

"Gig" or "Gik" or whatever transliterated is a relatively new word in the Thai language. You won't find it in any dictionary yet. And there is no universal definition on what it means. Most consider it to be a "**** buddy" but not everyone agrees with that. Until it it recognized as a word, and incorporated and defined in dictionaries, it is an open discussion as to what it means.
