Who would you like to be next PM?

News today that PM Surayud would step down if every one got upset is just typical - seems to me that noone really has the guts for the job. Unlike places like Afghanistan where there are literally dozens of factions vying for power, in Thailand there seems noone who really wants the job.

I can think of a couple of youngish guys up to the job of the PM - Korn Chatikavanij for instance - but I reckon he will have to wait a few years yet.

Who would you like to see as PM after the next elections in December (hopefully!!)??

or jlanne!! :P

anne makes an interesting point with the female angle!!

is thailand ready for a female pm or is this still a long way off??

I doubt it - there have only ever been 9 Thai women members of cabinet in Thai history - the last being Sudarat Keyuraphan (also likely to receive a 5 year ban as an executive of TRT).

  • 2 weeks later...

I saw General Sonthi Boonyaratglin with Sanoh Thienthong, Sanan Kachornprasart and Suwat Liptapanlop at the Grand Hyatt the other night. Wonder if they were busy forming the next Government with Sonthi as PM. He retires from the army in September in time for the next elections.

Wouldnt it be lovely to have a military linked Government for a few more years?!
