robbie36
I dread to think what the import duties are on those....
GAV
If a country like Thailand decided to make these themselves think of the power savings they would make. It would take a lot of demand off the national grid at the time it is most stressed. Who knows it could make blackouts a thing of the past. Bruce551
There's no duty on solar electric panels & solar related electronics. I'm not sure about the duty for solar water heating equipment, my guess is it is the import duty in low, the Thai government supports solar energy development. The problem with it is controling the money or making money using it. Profit control is all the power structure is concerned about . They could care less about someone geting a good deal
GAV
Solar anything is good but unfortunately it all cost a great deal of $$$ and most countries, companies, people are just not willing to chunk down the cash to do it. As a note, on commercial metal roof buildings, a water spray cooling system can reduce the heat load by 30-40% for low bucks... Some buildings I have been in have these in BKK. OK that would work where there is an abundance of water, but in Australia for example, that solution would NOT work.
alvish
Big fan of sustainable development and have the whole solar heating thing going on on my roof and soon to get a windmill. Here the government give grants to install these but i'm guessing there are higher priorities in Thailand. Are there any government Green groups or NGOs' in Thailand other than the usual Green Peace , FoE. Remember hearing of Green Ants of something but tried googling them with no luck.
