Stramash
Good deal, can you give your parents, my parents tel number so they can have a little talk. Will do  Are your parents looking to adopt any more children??? I'm first on the list D, so just you step back with those rosy red cheeks and those puppy dog eyes! But I can get to Belfast to be ingratiating a lot quicker than you!!! Plus I am a far more deserving charity case than yourself. In desperate need of philanthropic benefactor or very rich ageing widow!!! Or of course, if you need any signed/numbered prints sold discreetly without being traced back directly to you, am happy to be agent/middleman for a satisfactory percentage!! I offer the Maddona/Jolie Ethnic child look thats 'oh so chic' at the moment. Milky white is out baby. Now that's just not fair and, as I do not have a satisfactory riposte at this time, am off down the tanning salon. BTW, for your info; Scots are not 'milky white.' That is actually the second stage of the tanning process; it is so freaking cold here, the base coat is actually what dulux call 'hypothermia blue'

I think my dad has enough wind-up radios, ripped jumpers, 3rd hand cars and brandy balls to do him a lifetime... Neo
I think that unlicensed "English teachers" or "English teachers" working without work permits is far more "illegal" than my shenanigans. Hey take it easy, jeez more English Teacher bashing. Those depraved scum are just as entitled to abuse the Thai immigration system as anyone else. alvish
Some better news (link below)... similar to my prediction in "Global Recession" thread but just a bit later than expected (i went for Christmas time)... internal / inward investment is pushing up the pound and looks like the UK could beat the recession faster than the euro etc... Also found that the inspection date is in February and the deed transfer isn't until April (Songkran ) so this gives a couple more months for the GBP to sort itself out... the Don has also advised me well. Won't get my hopes up tho... have accepted and planned for the loss already so everything that happens from here on i will see as a gain http://money.uk.msn.com/investing/articles/morecommentary/article.aspx?cp-documentid=12548648 Sterling climbed more than 2.2 percent to $1.5285, also its highest since mid-December. The dollar came under selling pressure after a weaker-than-expected reading of U.S. private sector jobs. Some market participants said sterling was also supported by demand related to speculation for increased foreign investment, on the view that a weak currency, cheap shares and tumbling real estate prices were raising the appeal of corporate investments in the UK from overseas. Analysts said sterling was supported after recovering from heavy losses, partly on the view that interest rate cuts and government stimulus plans will help the economy recover from a recession faster than in the euro zone. "The market is still cutting out short sterling positions and there's fresh corporate-style money from abroad coming into the UK," said Neil Jones, head of European hedge fund sales at Mizuho Corporate Bank in London. "There's been a change in sentiment for sterling."
Dr_Mike
Just some very honest advice: You need to get out from under that mortgage. Flip, rotate or take a small loss. Don't mean to seem so blunt but I speak from experience. I'm sure Don can help you with this. He's a swell guy as well. Cheers

Cheers Luckily all financing is sorted without needing to borrow (personal savings and 0% interest loan from parents hehe). Had considered a non-resident mortgage offered by HSBC where I could borrow in dollars or euros and then would pay back when exchange rates fix... went against this in the end because I don't need more uncertainty and the interest would probably make me worse off... Am still considering the flip option tho...
