GoodKarma
there are a lot worse things happening to innocent ppl all around the world, to worry about a couple of privilged ppl putting their noisese where it shouldnt be. OMG... lol Well it is true that they are a bit privileged.. You are right there are a lot of worse and horrible things happening in the world some that don't even make the news. I will briefly explain to you what happened. they laura and another journalist euna lee were working on a story about human trafficking which I will speak for my own oppinion is pretty daayum horrible.. these two sisters lisa and her sister laura consistently do stories on human suffrage. I think that is what it's all about isn't it if you have privilege and your word means a little something you should be using it for a cause right? they are journalist and have asian noses so I think their noses were in the right place and smelling the right wrong things in asia. some people such as her has the balls to put her life at risk to do so... I suggest you google their names and read some of their journalist articles. the names are Lisa Ling and Laura Ling take it easy dude swasdee krap http://www.nydailynews.com/news/us_world/2009/06/09/2009-06-09_n_korea_hell_may_await_jailed_journos.html
maidai
to be honest, not to sound mean or anything, but i dont really care about their story. i hope the US government doesnt spend anytime (Money) worrying about them. the money that would be spent on them would be better used on other things or other issues concerning poverty. other then that, i the US invades North korea. cuz am tired of the little midget yapping his mouth around. i think unlike Iraq, the population would welcome us in. good contradiction dont you think? Many N. Koreans know about the South, dispite the isolation the North Koreans have ways of knowing the success of the South. All types of ppl flea the North all the time, because they know they live in an opressive regime. i believe, if u do the crime u do the time, dont care if they are Americans, Nigerians, or whatever. r u talking about UNC or NCSU? State sucks each year, UNC will always contend, their biggest issue is the point guard, they could of gotten the #1 point guard recruit if they wanted to but coach wants to develope the ones he has, yet still they have the #1 recruiting class. Duke has a top recruiting class also, but again, a bunch of white dudes but at least a good bigman coming in. Hope coach K does not coach the US national team again, he needs to rebuild the program, even though they have been a top 10 program in the these past few year, more is expected from them. most dont know, Wake Forest Uni use to be in Raleigh also but moved down the road, they have their best player coming back. You of course cannot ask a brother to hate his brother or cousin. just because of the region they live in. so that does make the issue very complex and america to seem to be in the middle. from what I have read a lot of koreans but not all believe it or not would just like it if it was one korea not divided not even carring about the communist aspect of things. oh well my post wasn't really about the complexity of korea..but to get the ling lady and her counterpart out safely. NCU will of course probably get a great recruiting class next year it's a bit too early to see who they will get..some commits will drop out at last minute. and oh yea don't let the big white guy syndrome fool you did you know that keith van horn who retired early at 32 had a college verticle jump of 40 inches these guys are althletic freaks of nature.coach K and his program are still good. its just that other schools and recruiting programs have gotten better. example a young player would go to a smaller school if they will be the school franchise standout superstar. but of course players will be drawn to the renowned schools because of good media exposure. if you are in the exposure and sitting on the bench or a red shirt freshman that of course would not be helping your career at all. later have a great week swasdee krap
maidai
Well, i think they just want some exposure. maybe eating grass for a few days will remind them where they are. Just look, as soon as they get out, they will be at every news organization, covered by ever world news outlet. Its the best career move they would of ever made. Yeah, I do think they will get out much sooner then later. We all know this, What kinda get me is that I think the lady in Burma is a much much much much more important issue and person then the ling sisters. Im almost sick to see the attention the ling sister got as compared to the Lady who has been captive in Burma over all these years now. Obama had mentioned the situation in Burma but a few days later, the Ling sister's thing caught wind. singing day ended last month on the 24th, UNC had the #1 class, kentucky #2, DUke is like #5. Duke so far has a verbal from the top recruit next year, but i like all the white dudes that go to Duke, so many of them have been disappointments however. Duke had the #1 recruiting class 4 years ago but the recruits just didnt pan out. They needed a big man and they got one with plumlee, so i hope he pans out, they should of gotten a local recruit john wall, #1 prospect but lost him to kentucky. GoodKarma
Bill Clinton seeking the release of two American Reporters. - Yahoo news AP SEOUL, South Korea ? North Korea welcomed former President Bill Clinton to Pyongyang with flowers and hearty handshakes Tuesday as he arrived in the communist nation on a surprise mission to bring home two jailed American journalists. Clinton landed in the North Korean capital in an unmarked jet. After greeting North Korea's chief nuclear negotiator and a high-ranking parliamentary official, he bowed and smiled as a young girl presented him with flowers, a red scarf tied around her neck, according to footage aired by television news agency APTN. The unusually warm exchange between officials from communist North Korea and the ex-leader of a wartime foe comes amid heightened tensions between Washington and Pyongyang over the regime's nuclear program. In recent months, North Korea has abandoned a disarmament pact, launched a long-range rocket, conducted a nuclear test and test-fired a barrage of ballistic missiles in defiance of the U.N. Security Council.
