Treborz
This is a cricket thread can we get back on topic? Well i had written a whole load backing up sherriff and Matt as i had not seen the umpire raise his finger at Hussey but after doing a little digging it appears from most reports that he did so i'm going to have to side with Ciaran on this one. Then another poor decision led to the demise of Mike Hussey. He looked in disbelief as he was given out, caught at slip to a delivery he came nowhere close to edging. The ball from Graeme Swann hit the rough and turned viciously from closer to the batsman's willow. This led the umpire to raise his finger but replays suggested the decision could had been better. As far as the catch was concerned, it was another one of those Collingwood specials which he plucks from thin air. I do think though that if the referral system was available to the players in this series Hussey would have most definitely utilised it anyway so Ciaran is right in saying he wouldn't have 'walked' if he didnt have to. CiaranM
Go on, back to the warehouse with little boy, I've got 3 businesses and a chain or hotels and restaurants to run. Not at all bad for a retard who lives under a rock..So it's official - we are allowed to call each other 'dicks' and 'retards' on this forum? Just checking, mods so I know for the future. well i don't actually work in a warehouse, but if i did at least it's better than ripping off OAPs for dodgy taramaccing they don't need !!! and since when has selling white heather and robbing clothes lines qualified as a business ??? Aww Ciaran, what's the matter? Have you run out of swear words? Now you're having to resort to racial jibes/stereotyping instead? I have to say, those are some of the most witty and original racial insults I have ever recieved.. hahahaaaaa, lucky heather indeed, what a silly little boy. Since when is owning a chain of hotels taramaccing? (whatever that is). Go on little boy, back to the warehouse with you, pick up that broom and off you go.. myself and kitschiguy were having a reasonably civilised debate about whether or not Hussey had walked. u were the one who came into a discussion and started dumping on me and the "Oirish" !!! u were the one who started flinging about insults and "Oirish" bollocks !! unfortunately i was stupid enough to respond and get dragged down to ur level, but when u know u r right it is easy to get pissed off !!! however, u must feel pretty silly now when u r shown to be wrong !! imagine getting shown up in ur knowledge of the game of cricket by an "Oirsh gobshite working in a warehouse !!!" Dave40
mean does anyone really think an aussie batsman figting to save an ashes test match at lords is gonna walk when he knows he did NOT edge the ball !!! Well written mate the UMPIRE makes the decisions it's he who decides who is out and not out!!!! The referral system should solve some of the problems here but not all!!!!! Aussie cricket players are taught when they first start playing to let the umpire make the decisions, then later they decide whether or not to be "walkers" (not many do) Plenty of players over the years have been given out when they are not out, the batsman should always get the benefit of doubt, ie runouts (b4 video replays and lbw"s etc etc!!! Treborz
Pietersen out with achilles injury for 6 weeks, Ian Bell in to replace him. Might not be such a bad thing as Pietersen has been hit and miss so far this series and Bell is averaging 80+ with the bat in country cricket this season. Yeah, I think Bell is the obvious choice to replace Pietersen but Joe Denly or Stephen Moore could be candidates. I think Owais Shar will be considered but I wouldn't pick him. Joe Denly and Stephen Moore had a good game against the Ozzies pre-Ashes and looked good against a pre-injury, in-form Brett Lee and Mitchell Johnson. Ian Bell failed in that match though. Pietersen is no good to us if he's carrying an injury and not on form. I'm not too worried, I was just looking forward to some flamboyance. Bell has struggled in the past against the Aussies, but their current attack has been poor so far and there's nobody of the stature of warne or mcgrath to shake things up !!!so he looks the safe if not particularly inspired choice. Bell reminds me a bit of Hick .... supreme at county level, but struggles at the very top level. however, if he does well in this series it could be the making of him in test cricket .... and he ain't gonna get a better chance than against this aussie attack on his home track !!!
