Mister Moobs
ah, ok....thanx faycyber Yes, Iain. I was going to say that but got hungry. lol In the States, we, too, call it "going Dutch." But most women will say that with a certain amount of derision. Meaning that the guy is cheap. haha

So similarly, if something is rare or non-existent, we call it a 'great French military victory'

Mister Moobs
oh, I googled "french poodle" and that was the first pic. Not all that into dogs... I did read that Chirac was "attacked and mauled" by a Maltese Poodle, though.

Not all that into dogs...I did read that Chirac was "attacked and mauled" by a Maltese Poodle, though. It may actually be a miniature poodle. No the French poodle is the really stupid looking one. I wouldnt diss the dachshunds too much. They used to be used to hunt badgers, and badgers are hard as f*ck. And the proper ones in Germany that can follow a 48 hour old blood trail get a tattoo! So they may look slightly silly, but they are hard mofo's

It has many problems too, as most countries do. Politics as it is now, doesn't work.

Admin_2
Most Americans have never heard the term American share before...I learned it only after coming to Thailand. There surely has to be more countries that typically share the bill when going out to eat, no?

Bruce551
I suspect that "American Share" originated in the 1960s during the Vietnam war. Many American G.I.s in Thailand then. Funny thing, in America we use phrase "Dutch Treat" or "go Dutch" for American Share

SweetieBabie
I remember we have discussed in late 2008 about this topic of what's different between "American Share" and "Going Dutch" but i could not (bother) find it in forum achieve, obviously these two terms have different meanings. which one is everybody paying equally amount and which one is paying as what you eat.
