Malcolm McLaren dies aged 64
Malcolm McLaren, the former manager of the Sex Pistols and impresario, has died. He was 64.
McLaren had had cancer for some time. His condition recently deteriorated rapidly and he died this morning in New York. His body is expected to be brought home to be buried in Highgate cemetery, north London.

second track this evening isn't really a d'n'b track, but IS on my fave label of the time, Moving Shadow, and is in fact the first release on it. Is still one of the evillest chill out tunes in my repertoire, and has sent many a spangled party goer over the edge...

Follow on from Teddy, and didn't want to kick up the tempo too much after that nice dubby tune, so have chosen one of my guilty pleasures to start with; 'GetFunky' by Return of the Living Acid from 1991. Not a complex track but has the essential ingredients from back in the day; long bass notes, 303s and a nice hip hop sample (from Afrika Bambaata). More of a set starter (or a room 2 tune) than peak dancefloor filler, this is still imo, a classic.
