I'm not a chauvinist. But to win 3 medals on the EC in Gothenburg is a great achievment for a small country as Belgium. Kim Geveart who won already the gold medal on the 100 m sprint, now also was the best at the 200 meters and is joining the small group of female athletes who did the double at an EC.
And Tia Hellebaut won rather surprisingly the gold medal on the high jump, where the bog Swedish favourite Berqvist failed.
Go Belgium for the next medal in the 4 X 100 meters. Girls power
Not Kim Clijsters this time, but Kim Gevaert. She won the golden medaille in the 100 meter sprint at the European Championship in Goteborg, Sweden. She's a great girl and also a lovely girl, almost like Clijsters.
The first gold for Belgium for woman in the EC in history and maybe friday she wins the 200 m sprint too.

Tonight I have to go to a party of a friend who stops with his business (call it pure coincidence that it's a pub, lol). I don't know but this past year a lot of bad things happened to our family. Those who hv read my former post knwo that my brother Daniel died last year in November after a long fight against a terminal braintumor. Now we got the bad news that his son and our nephew, about 33 years old, was found dead in his flat. He got probably poissoned by carbon mono oxide from a heater that didn't work properly.

I took free next week to repair little things at home, doing some painting and cleaning of the house.
I decided not to start immediatly with my week and tried to relax and went to the Belgian coast. It's only 2 hrs with the train and at weekends u get a discount of 50 % on the trainticket. It was a grey and cloudy day so I walked a liitle bit on the strand, it was only 13°C, untill I got too cold.
