Last night when I went to bed everything was 100% normal. Then sometime during the night, I started getting pain my my lower left leg. Not a little, but absolutely intense pain! I finally gave up trying to sleep any longer at 8:30 and tried to stand up, only to find myself wanting to scream in pain! Somehow with the help of leaning on furniture I made it across the room to my computer desk. It didn't take a rocket scientist to know that I was in trouble and had to get to the hospital. So I sent an SMS to Stu_thailand (we share the same apartment building) and asked for his help to get me downstairs and into a taxi.Well, to make a long story short I have a serious infection in my calf. The doc wanted to admit me for at least three days but I talked my way out of that and finally he agreed to have me treated as an outpatient, but that I would have to come back each day through next Tuesday for intravenous drip administration of a strong antibiotic, which takes two hours! After five hours at the hospital I was back home, but still pretty much unable to walk by myself. Don't know how I'm going to manage to take a shower! Grrrrrrr!!!So I can kiss the Songkran weekend goodbye, and no more parties for awhile! Damn bad luck!!!

Sorry to hear that Mike...If you want to cross check the antibiotic with what they would administer in the "West" let me know...And get somebody to shower you...I could do a journal asking for volunteers....lol

That could be the cure to a speedy recovery!!!!

Ow sound's serious make sure you take it easy mate.

Also eat well get your body defenses working properly maybe get Stu to stock ya up with loads a fresh fruit.

(at least ya got good fruit not like in the UK lol)

Now for some fortune telling; in my crystal ball I can see a Mike recovery party in just a couple of weeks, and I predict it's gonna be a big one, so don't worry mate plenty of fun gonna be coming your way soon.

KL, sorry to hear about your emergency, how do you get an infection in your calf? Hope you'll be okay and take it easy....slow down on all the parties with all the young ladies and you'll be fine! Happy New Year to you too :-)

shortyg: I don't think I'll be down and out for that long. Maybe 4-5 days (I hope).

dr12ew: Yes, and it's a bit expensive too!

afook: Anytime there is a breakage in the skin, there's the possibility of infection.

Poul: Today it's bad! Better tomorrow I hope!

Mike really sorry to hear that I can only hope that things get back to normal soon as possible wanna see your pics soon on a journal that you are ok and partying wish you a speedy recovery take care :o)

sirjoe55: It came on so suddenly and so fast! I hope it goes away fast too but I don't think so! Doc said if it's not improved by Tuesday he'll have to do some cutting!
