I was discharged from the hospital last night. While that's good, unfortunately I remain very, very ill and will not be logging into TF regularly.
Right now I need some nursing-type help 24 hours per day. I need someone who is either a nurse or has good nursing experience. The pay is good for those who may qualify. Because I will not be online often, please contact me by mobile at 089 008-0088.
In a previous journal I told you that I have a condition called edema. It is swelling of the legs and body cavity caused by fluid buildup in the tissue.I would love to tell you that my condition is improving, but in fact it is getting worse and quite rapidly. Many of the daily tasks I used to be able to do myself I can no longer do and have to rely on help. The edema has causes extreme weakness in my legs and standing up from a sitting position is becoming more and more of a problem. I can no lo
To those of you who left me testis today, I thank you and each and every one will be read. But I have received so many that they have become unmanageable. As as result I have turned off my testis for now, with apologies.
It will be a quiet birthday for me here at home. And the day has not been made any nicer by a round of severe diarrhea beginning at 4am, and still not over (yes, I have a supply of Imodium).
At least I hope to get something yummy to eat later in the day.
Tonight was the big birthday bash at Absolute 7 Bar, and I got there early, around 7:00. But I never could get quite comfortable on the bar stool and after an hour began to have some stomach problems too. Well, I wasn't being nice and social as usual, and I thought it's better just for me to go home and get comfortable.
By the time I left quite a few TF'ers had arrived...I'd say 50 or more, and more were expected to come. For those I did see there and talk to, I think you may have noticed som
The reservation has been made, and Absolute 7 Bar is gonna rock tomorrow night! This event has been planned for a long time, in fact even before Stu had any affiliation with Absolute at all! So a lot of planning and effort has been put into it, and your generous response by signing up is really appreciated! It's still not too late so do it here right now:
My prospects of being there are good! Unle
Well, people, it's all set! Reservations have been made with the cranky manager at Absolute 7 and soon it will be time to party!
We'll be celebrating four birthdays. Vardan, Whiskers, Wallace (in absentia) and me! And what a great time for premium members to collect their TF premium cards (if you haven't already) entitling you to a 10% discount on food and drinks all evening long!
As for me, well, I can't be 100% positive but I'm 90% sure I'll be there at this point, despite being against d
I don't know how many of you follow the PGA tour but I'm one of them and this weekend is the US Open tournament, one of the season majors, being held at the gruelling Oakmont CC at Pittsburgh. The first three rounds are now over with Aaron Baddeley in the lead by two, and Tiger Woods breathing down his neck in second place at just 2 strokes back. It's gonna make for a helluva finish tonight! For those of you in Thailand, you can watch it on ESPN but if you want commercial-free coverage and have a
pLuM!!! As many of you may recall I offered a reward for my 50,000th vote. Announcing the winner was delayed since the vote came while I was sleeping and I wanted to be sure and verify who got it. And now I am declaring a winner!
Many thanks, Plum for that landmark vote! You'll get a PM shortly on how to collect your reward!
One ironic note: Just a couple of hours after I got 50,000, Aphrodite also turned 50,000. It's simply amazing that it could happen on the same day and within such a sho
I guess it's time to tell you all exactly what's wrong with me and why I am having problems.
Over the past three months I have developed severe edema. What is that? Here's the dictionary definition: "Swelling from excessive accumulation of serous fluid in tissue." It begins in thelower legs and then if it worsens, it moves upward. And that's what's happened to me. It moved into my thighs and most recently into my torso.
I think what's most shocking is that before I developed the problem with
The doc phoned me early this morning to discuss the results of the blood test I had when I went to see him last Wednesday. It seems that there were some deficiences revealed that give him more clues about the cause of my problems, and he said that he would take another blood sample when I go back next Wednesday. In addition, he wants to do a doppler ultrasound on my heart, liver, and kidneys.
Well, people, it appears that there is not going to be any "quick fix" to my problems and I'm going to
Well, I'm back, quite unexpectedly to be honest. The doc felt that there was nothing they could do for me as an inpatient beyond what they could do as an outpatient. So I got a fistful of new medication to try and report back to the doc in a week.
In a way, it's disappointing. If I had been hospitalized for treatment I would have been glad to do that, because I need the help. But if the new medication does the job, that's even better, considering that I have no health insurance. So just have t
As some of you know, I have not been well for some time. As a result I haven't been to a TF (or non-TF) event in about two months.
Finally I will stop procrastinating and stop hoping for a miracle and see the doc tomorrow. I think the chances are at least 95% that I'll have to stay in the hospital for a few days for treatment. So I won't be able to be online during that time.
I will be at Phayathai 2 Hospital near Victory Monument (Sanam Pao station). I'll ask someone to post the details. I
Well, it's actually true! During World War II Thailand was occupied by the Japanese and as a consequence, America at that time considered Thailand to be an ally of Japan.
So American bombers needed some target practice before flying to Japan to do bombing runs, and Bangkok was chosen as the target.
The Americans were "polite" enough not to bomb near any royal residences or historic places but Bangkok was, nonetheless, bombed and yes property was destroyed and people died.
Almost no America
Yes, there is some exciting news! Stu is going to be...uhhhh...well, I can't tell you because I would be stealing his thunder!
I just want to tell you to watch Stu's journal entries in the next day or two. What I WILL tell you is that it's something good and TF'ers will like it!
Noooooo not now, not today!
I've posted a TF event for Saturday, June 23rd at Absolute 7 Bar and encourage you all to come and drink and have fun and offer condolences to me! (My actual birthday is the 26th.)
It's going to be a very fun night, so don't miss it! You'll love the live band (starts at 9:00)!
There might even be a surprise or two!
Sign up now! Limited to 100 persons! lol
Vardan has the same birthdate as me and he is now a co-sponsor! Double the reason
Okay, it's after 11pm and it's raining lightly now. That's fine! But at 2-3:00am is there going to be another thunderstorm to rock me out of bed? I'm getting so tired of that!
I can't sleep too late tomorrow. My cleaning lady is coming. Please, can I have one night without a storm interrupting my sleep?
Stu came to my apartment after work and after a beer I threw him out. I was tired, sleepy, and ready to sleep! So I went to bed.
Soon after that I heard the sound of thunder several times and I
thought okay, this is a storm that will pass south of Bangkok!
Well, I love to sleep to the sound of falling rain but the lightning and thunder keeps me awake (unless I am fully asleep and then I don't care)! As I type, it's around 2:40am and it's still raining and the thunder and ligh
Well, how many TF'ers can say that they didn't have a night when they couldn't fall asleep? None, I think! And this is one of those nights! I have asked Dr_Singha for a little extra help and it seems to be working. I will know soon.
Update: Well, I didn't go to see the doc or go to the hospital. When I woke up on Monday morning the swelling and inflammation in my foot
was less. So now I'm just monitoring the situation. If the need arises, I will go. But so far so good.
G'nite! Hope I ca
Some of you may recall that a couple of weeks ago I was battling a leg infection. I was just barely able to convince the doc not to admit me to the hospital and to be treated as an outpatient instead. The treatment worked, and the infection went away.
Well, it seems that my leg has become re-infected! Unless there is a dramatic improvement in the morning I'll need to see the doc again and this time I'm very afraid that he'll insist that I be admitted for treatment! So if I'm not online for th
Well, at 5:00am it is!
I went to bed about 2am and woke up at about 5am unable to go back to sleep. So what to do? Check TF and see what's going on, of course.
There were a couple of new journal entries but not much else to keep me entertained. I guess most TF'ers are still out partying somewhere! lol
Gonna attempt to sleep again soon. I've summoned Dr_Singha to help me get sleepy again.
Have a good Sunday everyone!
Well, it rained yesterday (big storm) and tonight it's raining again. Frankly, I think it's great! It cleans the air and the streets after months of dryness. Yes, I know some people will complain that the change in weather gives them a cold and makes life more difficult. But it also cools the air and after about a month of living in a very hot city the coolness is very welcome! My windows are open again! I hope the rain keeps up so that I can go to sleep with the lovely sound of rain!
